The star director who made his grand entry into the field of movies with MIRCHI is Koratla Siva. His present project is the much hyped Srimanthudu which features Prince Mahesh Babu and the gorgeous Shruthi Haasan.
Being made on the banner Sri Mythri Movie Makers, its produced by Y Naveen, Y RaviSankar, CV Mohan together. This flick Srimanthudu is to hit theaters on 7th August.
With the time nearing for the release of the movie, the director- Koratala Siva shares his feelings with us through an interview. Take a look.
Q) How is the movie going to be? What can we expect from Srimanthudu?
A) A man who's belonging if from a very rich family, gets to adopt a village. This streak of the story is presented by bombarding it with commercial elements. People can expect multiple emotions from the flick. The title was opted as we felt it would go along with all the elements of the story.
Q) How was your journey with Prince?
A) After my debut movie Mirchi, I had t work with Ram Charan. But that project didn't get on to the sets. Then Srimanthudu got confirmed and Mahesh probably was busy with "AAgadu". I waited until the schedule got wrapped up and then kick started this one. When I first narrated the story to Mahesh, he was excited with the idea of adoption of a village by a prosperous man. He was quite impressed as he felt that the commercial elements also went well. He worked very hard and I should admit that he did a lot more homework when compared to me.
Q) How is the characterization of Mahesh going to be?
A) I can say that no directors who have worked with Mahesh have made him do such a role. He is seen as a guy born with silver spoon, yet he maintains absolute simplicity. He roams on by-cycle, dress in the modest way and talks very briefly. Mahesh had practiced for quite a long time to get immersed into the role and I bet he made pakka justification for the role.
Q) Highlights of the movie?
A) Mirchi made a huge impact on the audience emotionally. In the same way or consider may be far more than that, Srimanthudu is going to be emotional. The emotional track which was not touched by anyone else until today is stressed in the movie. The role Mahesh plays ie. the lead role Srimanthudu will stand phenomenal. There are no unnecessary songs and not even irrelevant fights in this picture.
Q) About Jagapathi Babu's character? Why him in the role of the father?
A) This movie was in a need of a handsome and majestic person and we felt Jagapathi Babu would suit well. I was a little afraid to ask him to do the role. But he readily accepted the offer as soon as he was narrated the story. Sukanya is roped in as Mahesh's mother and thus there is once again "pedharikam" combination.
Q) About the producer?
A) For the first time I witnessed that producers can be passionate towards the movie in such a range. I really felt comfortable working with them.
Q) About the heroine? How was it working with Shruthi Hassan?
A) I do put a lot of efforts to make sure that the heroine's role in my movies are strong enough. I don't prefer the strategy of keeping heroine limited for songs or some scenes. So, Shruthi is seen in a dynamic and gutsy role in this movie.
Q) What after Srimanthudu? Next projects?
A)Yeah.. I do few projects in mind. I will surely announce it in near future if it gets finalized. I don't want to haste up. There is no idea of doing back-to-back movies. It takes time for me.
