Telugu Cinema, has really gone global with Baahubali franchise and producers looking at the collections of the two movies, decided to push the line for other movies too. Already, Mahesh Babu's Spyder has gone over budget to what producers have planned earlier, the production cost of the movie is now said to go beyond 120 crores.
The movie budget increased from planned 75 crores as a bilingual in Telugu, Tamil and dub version release in Hindi and Malayalam, to such staggering amount. The reason behind it is said to be the long delays in shooting of the movie and also an additional budget of 15 crores allotted just for VFX work in the post production.
On the other hand, even Pawan Kalyan - Trivikram Srinivas movie to will go over budget as per the insider reports. The film had been first planned for a 85 crores budget within four months tight schedule with many actors ensemble. But with Pawan Kalyan's decision to concentrate more on politics and stop acting in movies at least till he establishes his Jana Sena party in two Telugu states, made the director and producer to add more elements to the script that will make it even more memorable.
For that and also few obvious delays, the movie is now, quoted to go over budget by at least 25 crores. Also, the movie release has been postponed to Dusserah season from August and it could go even further to Sankranthi if they don't finish the movie in time. Mahesh's Bharat Ane Nenu directed by Koratala Siva, could also go a little over 100 crores budget and the shoot has just begun.
Baahubali Prabhas is going full throttle with his immediate release, Saaho in the direction of Sujeeth Sign and the actor is busy trimming down all his Baahubali weight to achieve a different look for the movie. The movie budget is already quoted at 125 crores and it could go more than that as per the sources.
Megastar Chiranjeevi too increased the budget of his next film, historical drama, Uyyalavada Narasimha Reddy from 65 crores to 115 crores and the producers are in look out for bug production houses for collaboration. Allu Arjun's Duvvada Jagannadam too has gone over budget by 10 crores due to re-shoots. Gopichand's Oxygen has been halted from further progress due to lack of business and producers are even ready to invest little over 25 crores on a aged and washed out actor like Rajasekhar for his Garuda Vega.
Well, the producers are backing so much on box office potential looking at Baahubali collections, but Katamarayudu, Brahmostavam, Sardar Gabbar Singh, still needed to be revered as great lessons before going in full throttle into these huge budget productions. Still in Telugu other than Baahubali only, movie to cross 100 crores share is Khaidi No. 150 of Megastar Chiranjeevi with Sankranthi advantage and the most popular stars returning to screen after nine years!
