‘2.0’ is one of the biggest projects made in India. This Rajnikanth starrer has Akshay Kumar as the protagonist and ace director Shankar is the director for this flick. This is the only South Indian film which is expected to shatter the records of ‘Baahbali-The Conclusion’. But unexpectedly, the Hindi rights have been sold for just 80 crores.
This may be a huge prize for a normal South Indian film in North but this is one of the costliest films made in the country with a humongous budget of over 350 crores. As ‘Baahubali 2’ minted over 500 crores in the North, there were a lot of expectations on the pre-release business of ‘2.0’. Now, many feel that the makers have sold this for a low rate as it is a Rajni film and also has a Bollywood super star like Akshay Kumar in it. Also, before ‘Baahubali’, it was ‘Robo’ which was the highest collecting South Indian film in the North.
Let us wait and see whether this decision by the makers turns fruitful for them or not.
