Kota Srinivas Rao, the legendary character actor of Telugu Cinema had to come out to press and announce that he is in good shape in the vague of rumours regarding his health. Many rumours have come out in web media that he is continuously going to hospital for check-ups and that's the reason for his absence from movies. The actor addressed these rumours and talked to press why he felt the need to clarify through media.
"I am alive. You can see that I believe. I am deeply hurt with the false news about me. I would have not come in front of you unless and until I felt the need to explain the situation. I am happy and healthy but my age is 74. At this age, I can't play father roles as I did play them for elder generation of many actors today. I have to be their grandfather on screen and such roles are highly limited. I do have knee pains and that is due to age. I went to hospital to see my friends and regular check-ups but not because I needed immediate attention for a heart issue or lung transplant, "said the actor in his satirical style.
Then he continued to say that he acted for more than 35 years in the films and he has right to chose the roles he wants to play on screen. Also, he said that the stories have changed and there is a generation gap that people needs to understand. He said, "I am still acting in few films but my age won't permit ne to work all the time. I do have knee pains but by God's grace my organs are fine. I am 74 years old and I need some peace of mind these days than these continuous rumours about my health. If there is a problem, I can't hide it from you." He is acting in Saamy 2 in Tamil and Achari America Yatra in Telugu.
