After a powerful ‘Singam 3’, Tamil star actor Suriya is back this time with ‘Gang’. The film is releasing this Pongal season amidst huge hype and craze. During its promotions, we got hold of Suriya’s time and took an interview. This is what he has to say about his ‘Gang’.
Tell us in short about ‘Gang’?
I felt like attempting a new genre with ‘Gang’ and it will be a very different one from me.
What is the backdrop of this film?
It is based on a true robbery incident and the whole story is laced around it in an engaging and entertaining manner. Few other important issues have also been discussed.
What was the reason behind accepting ‘Gang’?
I liked Vignesh Shivan’s clever screenplay and good narration. The audience are surely going to enjoy his style of work.
Share something on working with seniors like Karthik and Ramya Krishna?
It was a fantastic experience. I was fun time working with them and learned many things from them. Also, sharing screen with legendary comedian Senthil Sir is unforgettable.
How tough was it to dub for yourself in Telugu?
I took a lot of time to get the pronunciation right in Telugu. I like the language very much and it had a great time dubbing in Telugu.
Tell us about the major plus points of ‘Gang’?
First in the list would be Vignesh Shivan’s unique storytelling and the next one is Anirudh’s powerful songs and background score. Also, there is a lot more in the store.
Tell us about your next commitments?
Currently, I am focusing on Sleva Raghavan’s film which will be having Rakul Preet and Sai Pallavi as female leads. After that, it will be working again with KV Anand who gave me hits like ‘Veedokkade’ and ‘Brothers’.
