So many movies get released every Friday but only a few can do well at the box office. Sometimes, we can see so many hit movies in a month and sometimes all movies become flops. September also became such boring and disappointing month in Tollywood.
Tollywood scored two hit movies in August 'Goodachari' and 'Geetha Govindam'. Allari Naresh and Sunil kick-started September with their 'Silly Fellows' movie which ended up as a disaster. 'Care of Kancharapalem' movie which gained appreciation from the audience disappointed on the commercial front and 'Manu' also faced the same fate. Naga Chaitanya's 'Sailaja Reddy Alludu' released as for Vinayaka Chavithi had highest openings in Naga Chaitanya's career but the collections went down from the second day itself.
'U-Turn' also got released on the same day but despite getting positive reviews the film failed to recover the money invested. Hero Sudheer Babu's maiden production 'Nannu Dochukunduvate' also ended up as a dud. The much-anticipated sequel of 'Saamy' titled 'Saamy 2' also became a failure. 'Devadas' which was released by the end of September had a decent start and is yet to perform well at the box office to be called as a hit. Maniratnam's directorial 'Nawab' also failed to get a good start
On the other hand, small budget movies like 'Kurukshetra', 'Natakam', 'Ee Maaya Peremito' also ended up flops. If Devdas succeed in reaching the break-even point then it can be considered as the solo hit in September. Otherwise this month the month would be the biggest disappointment.
