Star hero Suriya coming back on the silver screen after a long time with his new film, NGK. The film is gearing up for the release on this Friday. Though the film has high expectations in Tamil, there is no buzz for it in Telugu, due to the lack of proper promotions. NGK did an overall theatrical pre-release business of Rs.110 crores.
The Telugu rights were sold to KK Radhamohan for Rs. 9crorees. But it is being heard that the film was sold for a much lower price, as there is no market value of Suriya these days. Apart from the Singham series, none of his films has clicked in Telugu. Sources claim that the rights might have been sold for around 5 crores as it might collect a share around that figure in the total run.
They have also added that the films these days are being bought keeping the market value of heroes in mind. But Suriya's film can easily get a share of Rs. 15-20 crores if it gets a good word of mouth. Let's wait and see how far NGK will perform at the box office.
