Finally, ‘Baahubali-The Conclusion’ had hit the screens to answer ‘Why Kattappa killed Baahubali?’ The entire nation is eagerly waiting for this Rajamouli directorial. Expectations are more than sky high level as the first part was a super successful. Let us see how ‘Bahhubali-The Conclusion’ fared.
Starting from where it left, Baahubali (Prabhas) is announced as the king of Maahismathi and Sivagami (Ramya Krishna) asks him to go around the kingdom and know the problems of people. In that process, he goes to Kuntala kingdom and meets Devasena (Anushka). They both fall in love while Bhallaladeva (Rana) and Bijjaladeva (Nasser) schemes against Baahubali to conquer the throne. They influence Sivagami to go against Baahubali. Rest of the story answers the questions, ‘Will Sivagami realize the truth? Why Kattappa killed Baahubali? How will Shivudu defeat Bhallaladeva?
It is undoubtedly Prabhas’s show all the way. He answers all his critics with this one film. His royalty as Amaredra Baahubali and aggression as Shivudu proves his acting prowess. We cannot imagine another actor in place of Prabhas for ‘Baahubali’. His macho looks and amazing screen presence are an added advantage. His dedication and hard work is visible in each and every frame.
Rana Daggupati is menacing as Bhallaladeva. His histrionics and evil smile are worth watching. He had delivered his career best performance for ‘Baahubali’.
Anushka once again proves her capabilities with Devasena. Her character is on par with Sivagami and Anushka steals the show with power house performance. She is exceptional in different looks.
Seasoned actors Satyaraj and Nassar proved their acting caliber once again. They just lived in those roles and they added more intensity to those characters. Subbaraju is apt in his role. No other actress can do justice to Sivagami role except Ramya Krishna. Her intensity and voice modulation is amazing. Unlike the first part, there are many emotional scenes of Sivagami and she portrays them flawlessly.
‘Baahubali’ stands on par with Hollywood standards in terms of technical quality. Senthil Kumar’s work is out standing as his camera angles, shots elevated the film to another level. The tone, the elevation shots and everything were just amazing. The visuals are top notch.
Sabu Cyril’s art work is top class and you get transported to a completely different world from the word go. Kanal Kannan and his team should be lauded for such splendid graphic work onscreen. Their hard work is visible in each and every frame as the viewer cannot figure out what is real and what is not for the major part of the film. The climax portions however were a bit let down by patchy CG work.
Editing by Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao is fantastic and it is the most under rated job. Music by MM Keeravani is a stand out as his background score is quite amazing though the songs were ordinary. Dialogues are apt.
Arka Media should be appreciated for taking such huge risk and never compromising on the output. Without their passion, ‘Baahubali’ would not be possible.
While the first part offers nothing but a visual feast, the second part has high emotional quotient backed by stunning visuals. While the first half runs smoothly with ample entertaining elements and elevation scenes, the second half looks a bit stretched in the middle. The much hyped question of Why Kattappa killed Baahubali? was dealt carefully and is quite apt.
Apart from that, there are some other twists in the plot too that engage the viewers. The films grand scale and its visual aplomb is what makes you get involved in the film from the moment go. But, the most awaited fight between Prabhas and Rana may leave you in slight disappointment because of the heavy expectation on it.
There are no words to explain the awesomeness of Rajamouli. His passion and his imagination levels are so big and he successfully turned them on screen. His creativity is felt all over the film and he sweeps you off your feet with his brilliance. He answered everyone who said that his mark emotions were missing in the first part with this flick as emotions drive you into the story. He draws a lot of inspiration from mythologies and his story telling is flawless. Though the screenplay is a bit slow this time, he never manages to bore the audience.
‘Baahubali-The Conclusion’ is one film which makes the entire Indian cinema proud. If you ignore some minor flaws, the grandeur and emotions will leave you awestruck. Don’t miss this masterpiece
