Adult comedy Babu Baaga Busy is the flavor of the season. This Hunterr remake has otherwise steady and chaste Avasarala Srinivas crossing the rubicon. He plays a sex maniac who chases chunris in the film. Let us see how the movie is.
Story: ‘Babu Baga Busy’ is the story about Madhav ( Avasarala Srinivas) who runs after skirts. He is in his early 30's and wants to get married after having a glorious past with umpteen girls on his lustful journey.
Madhav meets Radha (Mishti Chakraborty) at the matchmaking interview and he falls in love with her. The story traverses back and forth, right from his adolescence to the ageing. Both Radha and Madhav reveal about their past relationships with each other. How Madhav marries Radha? forms the rest of the story.
Performances: Avasarala Srinivas is alredy a proved actor. But this character as sex addict is not suitable for him. However, he delivered decent performance and tried his best to carry the film on his shoulders. Supriya has done a marvelous job as a married woman. She looks seductive and is comfortable and has the right kind of looks.
Mishti Chakraborty was okay. Sreemukhi got a tiny role but she did a good job. Tejaswai Madiwada looks uncomfortable and her performance looked quite brittle in the film. Her bold character will raise a lot of eyebrows. This film may not add any value to her. Aadarsh Balakrishna appeared in a special role. Tanikella Bharani, Sudha and Posani Krishna Murali have performed according to their roles. Others didn’t have much to offer.
Technical: Sunil Kashyap's music is a big failure. Background score does not gel with emotions of the film and it hampered the prospects of the film. Cinematography is ok. Editing is a major minus and it should have been a lot crisper. Dialogues are poor and this film disappoints big time. Direction and screenplay are not upto the mark. Production values are also not good and the film looks B-grade kind of movie. Its not a film of Avasarala and Abhishek Pictures's standards.
Analysis: Babu Baga busy has created a good buzz with its 'hot' trailers and adult content. The film was made to target the youth and college going audience. But the film is a surprisingly very poor offering from Avasarala Srinivas. The treatment of the whole movie with its consecutive flashbacks makes it a bit of a mess to follow. The major drawback in Babu Baga busy is the weak direction and the poor emotional graph. The characterizations of all the actors are incomplete and very cliched.
The pace of the film was also slow. Except for adult comedy scenes for the youth, there is nothing to rave about in this movie.
The message it conveyed the movie is not effective. Overall, it's a bold attempt by Avasarala, but not good enough. This film is surely not meant for family audiences and please ignore it.
Final verdict: Avasarala Sinivas has picked up a wrong subject and his director has also let him down big time. Better to watch on TV
