After a striking debut as a director with ‘A Film by Aravind’, Sekhar Suri couldn’t continue the same magic again. Now, after a long gap he is coming up with ‘Dr.Chakravarthy’. The trailers brought in decent buzz of this film and let us see how it is.
Story: Dr. Chakravarthy is a renowned doctor who runs a hospital. His daughter Sonia (Sonia Mann) falls in love with Rishi. When everything is going right, a mafia down from who Chakravarthy took 50 crores enters the scene and asks him to return his money or else he threatens to kill his family.
This video gets popular in Youtube and his entire family goes to their farm house to commit suicide. But strange things happen and Sonia ends up being killed by his own family.
Why did the family kill Sonia? Why did Chakravarthy take 50 crores from the don? To know all these, watch the film at your theatres nearby.
Performances: Girish Sahadev acted brilliantly in the character of Chakravarthy. He portrayed this multi-dimensional role with a lot of conviction and it helps the film to a large extent.
Sonia Mann impresses you with her performance and she is sure to bag more interesting offers in future.
The rest of the cast were apt and performed their part well and bring the audiences into the film.
Technicians: Cinematography is intact and gelled with the mood of the film. Certain shots were executed perfectly. Naresh’s editing is good and the sharp cuts helped a lot for the film. Vijay Koorakula’s background score is fine though the loudness could be reduced a bit. Dialogues are apt and the production values are also good.
Director Sekhar Suri had chosen an interesting script once again and his screenplay is interesting. He extracted good performances from the cast and his direction is commendable though there are some predictable scnes here and there.
Analysis: ‘Dr.Chakravarthy’ is not a regular commercial entertainer but an interestingly made suspense thriller. The makers did not deviate from the main plot. The story was taken from a social issue and the director added got amount of twists in the film to make the proceedings interesting.
On the flip side, the intensity which we saw in ‘A Film by Aravind’ goes missing. There are a few predictable scenes in the film and the narration is quite slow which may bore you at times.
Conclusion: On the whole, ‘Dr.Chakravarthy’ is an interesting thriller that you can watch this weekend if you like such kind of films.
