Star director Sukumar has come up with another film from his production house. Darshakudu has hit the theaters on Friday. Let's see if this film would repeat Kumari 21F magic.
Darshakudu reveals the story of a passionate filmmaker who begins his career as a light boy. Mahesh (Ashok) who is moving forward to achieve his goal of becoming a director gets an opportunity to become a director and the producer who is associated with Mahesh asks him to develop a love story in the script.
Mahesh, who was not in love with any girl, wants to experience it. Mahesh meets Namratha (Eesha) and starts moving with her to incorporate some love experiences in his script. But Namratha takes his intentions wrong and leaves him. What happens next will form the rest of the story.
Debutante Ashok has made confident debut and given sincere act. He has also shared best chemistry with Eesha Rebba. Overall, Akshok came up with a good job.He needs to concentrate on bringing depth in emotions from his next film onwards. Eesha will strike a chord with the youth audience. She is beautiful and an innocent sex appeal that makes her desirable.
The film revolves around Ashok and Eesha, so others hardly make any impact. Sudharshan Reddy and Priyadarshi gave hilarious moments and gave their own share of laughs.
Among other actors, Sudarshan Reddy has got good role.
The film has decent technical production values. Dialogues are good. Couple of songs are catchy but the background score goes with the flow.
Cinematographyis not that impressive. Editing is good but the pace should have been racy. Production values are impressive.Direction has suffered ups and downs. Though Jakka Hariprasad has come up with a good idea of making a love story based on the director, he failed in executing it properly on the screen. Sukumar's intelligence is visible many a times in the film. It is pretty good for a budding director.
Sukumar's maiden production "Kumari 21F" went on to become a big hit and the film has grossed more than Rs 30 crores at the box office.
Coming to Darshakudu, choice of the story is very good but the implementation part is slightly mishandled. The first half is impressive and the director maintained momentum in narration in the second half as well. He sticks to the basics and treats the subject with ease without going overboard or stretching the plot. Nice dialogues and well conceived scenes will make you root for the characters. The interval episode is very convincing. Had he taken more care on the second half, the output could have been far better. Plus points of the film are freshness, casting and entertainment and sensibility Overall, the first half of the film has good scenes will surely strike a chord.
At the box office, Darshakudu will appeal to the college and youth audience.
Final word - Darshakudu is a worth watch
