C/o Surya is the latest Indian bilingual action drama film produced by Chakri Chigurupati under Lakshmi Narasimha Entertainments. The film is releasing in Tamil too with the title Nenjil Thunivurundhal. The film is a proper bilingual that was shot in Telugu and Tamil languages at a time. The film has been written and directed by Suseenthiran.
The movie stars Sundeep Kishan and Mehreen Pirzada in the lead roles. D Imman is the music director of the movie and the makers are awaiting the response from the audiences. Check out the review of the film here.
Surya (Sundeep Kishan) and Mahesh are best friends. Both do catering business. Surya's sister Anu falls in love with Mahesh and when Mahesh wanted to confess the same to Surya, Anu stops him. In the meantime, Surya learns about the love matter of Anu and gets furious over both of them. Surya also learns that Sada Shivudu (Harish Uthaman) is planning to kill Mahesh.
To save Mahesh from the upcoming danger, Surya sends Mahesh to jail but it is only at that point, Surya realises that Sada Shivudu actually wanted to kill Anu. Who is Sada Shivudu? Why does he want to kill Anu? forms the rest of the story of the film.
Sundeep Kishan is seen as Surya in the film while Mehreen Pirzada is seen as Janani in the movie. Both the lead actors did their job pretty well and impressed everyone. Sundeep is energetic in the first half and delivered an emotional performance by the end of the movie. Mehreen is attractive in terms of the looks as well as the performance. Harish Uthaman is another good actor who has played an impressive role.
He is sure to grab more opportunities for the film. Thulasi played well as the mother. The actors like Thagubothu Ramesh, Praveen and Satya who played Sundeep's friends are good and made their presence felt.
The camera work by Laxman Kumar is impressive. The makers did a fab job by having the best technician on board. The lighting is perfect and the framing is nice. The editing by Kasi Viswanathan is also impressive. The makers could have concentrated in chopping off some scenes in the flow which would have made the film more interesting.
The narration is nice. The music by Imman is good and the background score is excellent. The bilingual angle worked out well but some part of the film has the Tamil flavour. The production values of the film are rich.
C/O Surya is an interesting film with a story. Unlike the usual crime thrillers, the film C/O Surya has a good story that was properly cooked. The contract killing gang dimension and the threat to the family angle have worked out well and it generated certain curiosity that made us sit and watch the movie.
The film was narrated well but it moves forward at a slow pace. The natural performances of all the actors is a highlight. The unnecessary elements like the comedy and some commercial aspects are the drawbacks. The makers could have stuck to the core point without getting deviated. On a whole, the film is surely an entertainable fare and a once watchable flick.
