Deepika Padukone stars as Rani Padmavati, alongside Shahid Kapoor as Maharaja Rawal Ratan Singh, and Ranveer Singh as Sultan Alauddin Khilji. Aditi Rao Hydari, Jim Sarbh, Raza Murad, and Anupriya Goenka feature in supporting roles.

Ratan Singh (Shahid Kapoor), the king of Chittor visits Simhala and gets attracted to the beauty of Simhala princess Padmaavati (Deepika Padukone). Ratan Singh married Padmaavati and takes her to his kingdom. Alauddin Khilji, the emperor of Delhi eyes on the beauty of Padmaavati and to win her, he announces a war on Chittor kingdom.
What happens after that and what did Padmaavathi do for protecting her dignity and the pride of Rajputs forms the story of the movie.
Ranveer Singh lived up to the Super Actor tag and played the role Khilji in the best possible manner. The film indeed is arguably the most badass character in recent Indian cinema, and he played it so effortlessly. The actor establishes himself as the best performer on the Indian screen with this role. Deepika Padukone is the woman who is stunning in the movie. She lived up to the character of the Queen in the film and impressed everyone. The actress is strong, dignified & honourable in every scene of the movie.
With great grace, she pulled off her role with ease and mesmerised everyone especially with the climax performance. Shahid Kapoor as the Rajput king of is a complete fit. He played his part very well and impressed everyone. Aditi Rao Hydari got a decent role, and she speaks a lot with her screen presence itself. All the other actors of the film performed well to their potential.
The one-person show of Sanjay Leela Bhansali is going to get paid for the success. He has taken care of everything and made sure that the movie hits the bull's eye. His writing is fabulous in the film. The right proportion of magic was evident in his making style. His music and especially the background score in the last fifteen minutes is terrific. The cinematography by Sudeep Chatterjee is impressive. The editing is sharp, and the free flow of scenes arrested the viewers. The production values of the film are grand. The graphics and VFX work is excellent. Technically, the film is super sound.
There is so much of grandeur that the film Padmaavat offers to us. The film is god level regarding the performances. Both Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh nailed the roles they played. Shahid Kapoor is brilliant in the part he was chosen for. With great performances, the technical team produced a cinematic brilliance!
There is no controversy in the movie, and the Rajputs should be proud of the film as the film is their pride. The film, for sure, is a breathtaking visual experience.
The director Sanjay Leela Bhansali deserves all the appreciations for making this masterpiece, and the film is one benchmark for Indian Cinema.
