After her debut movie 'Oka Manasu' got tanked at the box office, Niharika Konidela took a small break from films and recently came up with a family entertainer 'Happy Wedding'. She paired up with 'Kerintha' actor Sumanth Ashwin under the direction of the debutant, Lakshman Karya. Pocket Cinema banner associated with UV Creations to bankroll this project. Shakthiksnth Karthick scored the music for the songs whereas SS Thaman who is enjoying his winning streak did the background music. Bal Reddy worked as the cinematographer. The movie unit appeared confident about their output. Not only the leads but the director is also hoping to score a hit. Let's see the detailed review:
Story: The story is about Akshara ( Niharika Konidela) who works as a saree designer. She often stays in a confused state and can't decide on what she actually wants. She falls in love with Anand (Sumanth Ashwin) who is an Ad scriptwriter. The families of both sides accept to their wedding. Everything goes well until the return of Akshara's ex-boyfriend, Vijay who plots to win her back. Though Akshara treats him as a friend, she ended up getting confused between Vijay and Anand. Things get complicated when everyone ignores her concerns and Anand's change of behaviour starts irking Akshara. The rest of the story unfolds how Akshara and Anand solve their problems and get married.
Performances: The major highlight of the film is Niharika Konidela who has shown a drastic improvement from her first film. She looked beautiful in this film. Though she again appeared in traditional outfits in most parts of the film, she looked pretty and decent. Sumanth Ashwin also performed well in terms of acting. it could have been much better if both the leads tried to focus on their dialogue delivery. The chemistry between Niharika and Sumanth isn't that appealing. The supporting actors Murali Sharma, Tulasi, Naresh, Pavitra Lokesh convinced the audience with their performance and made their presence felt. Needless to say, veteran actress Annapoorna did a great job.
Technical Aspects: Before discussing the director's taking, Lakshman Karya marked his debut with this film but did a satisfactory job. Being a debutant, he succeeded in reaching the expectations partially. The film started with an entertaining first half which made the audience to appreciate the director but the pace in the second half fell down utterly leaving the viewers annoyed. The production values are just average though two production banners Pocket Cinema and UV Creations joined to bankroll the film. The songs by Shakthikanth Karthick and BGM by SS Thaman hare good and worth-appreciating. The visuals by cinematographer Bal Reddy are quite impressive.
Verdict: 'Happy Wedding' deals with a simple story revolving around two individuals who are deeply in love with each other. The movie started on a fun note and just when the audience are expecting a fun ride, twists unfold with the entry of ex-boyfriend. The second half tests the patience of the audience with its pace of a snail. The narration could have been much better. The dialogues are one of the good things about the film. Most of them are quite good. The characters are portrayed well and depict the reality of the present generation. Overall, 'Happy Wedding' is an average film with some visible flaws.
