Young hero Naga Chaitanya who recently starred in a romantic comedy 'Sailaja Reddy Alludu' failed to impress the audience. So, he teamed up with his 'Premam' director and came up with an action thriller 'Savyaschi'. With an interesting concept of vanishing twin syndrome, the movie has been garnering a positive response from the audience. Nidhhi Agarwal is marking her Tollywood debut with this movie. Mythri Movie Makers bankrolled this project prestigiously. The film has been carrying a decent buzz and finally hit the silver screens today. Here is the review of the movie.
Story: Vikram Aditya (Naga Chaitanya) is an Ad Film maker. One day, he meets his ex-lover Chitra (Nidhhi Agerwal) after six years who comes to him as a client. They remember the memories they had from college life and go to New York for an Ad shooting. But, things will have a drastic change after their return. Vikram finds out that his sister’s family was attacked and niece was kidnapped. Then enters Arun Raj (Madhavan), a talented youngster who hates the society around him. Arun is the one who attacked Vikram’s family and kidnapped his niece. How, a mind game takes place between Vikram and Arun? Why Arun attacked Vikram's family? Did Vikram succeeded in protecting his family? Forms the crux of the story.
Performances: Naga Chaitanya is definitely a show stealer for this film. He did a great job showing variations in his role. It is evident that Chay worked really hard for this film. He delivered a memorable performance and has shown maturity in his performance. Madhavan is the major highlight of the movie. He did a stunning job in portraying the negative role in the movie. Nidhhi Agarwal looked absolutely beautiful. Her cute expressions, sexy looks and her chemistry with Naga Chaitanya can be termed as the major highlights. Bhumika did a decent job in portraying her role. Vennela Kishore and Thagubothu Ramesh will make the audience laugh out loud. Their timing is awesome. Rao Ramesh performed really well and justified his role.
Technical Aspects: The story is not too complex but it is intriguing. Director Chandoo Mondeti weaved a revenge story around a complex point. He handled the script very well and executed the movie pretty decently. His narration is not too slow and Chandoo succeeded in explaining the point he wants to tell. The production values of Mythri Movie Makers are super rich. The runtime is bearable. The music by MM Keeravani is pleasant and good. Background score is superb. The camera angles of J. Yuvaraj are good. Editing by Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao is worth appreciating. There aren't any boring or unnecessary episodes in the flick.
Verdict: The story of the film is interesting. Director gave an interesting premise of the story. The movie started on a interesting note. The first half of the film is just average. The college track is somewhat boring. The love track is just fine. But things speed up in the pre-interval. The interval scene is superb. The second half of the film is better than first half. Climax is gripping. All the actors performed well and the movie is above average. The song placements could have been better. First two songs came out well. On the whole, 'Savyasachi' is an average movie with just a few thrilling elements. If you are up for a slow-paced thriller, then give 'Savyasachi' a try.
