Being a son of a producer, it became easy for Bellamkonda Sai Sreenivas to become a hero with 'AlluduSeenu' movie. But the actor has been waiting to score a decent hit. Even his previous movie 'Saakshyam' ended up as a biggest disaster at the box office and now Bellamkonda hero is trying his hand in a cop drama 'Kavacham'.
The hero played the role of a Police Officer for the first time in his career. Kajal Aggarwal and Mehreen Pirzada romanced Bellamkonda in this movie. Srinivas Mamilla marked his directorial debut with this film which got released today on December 7th. SS Thaman scored music for this film. Here is the review of the movie.
Story: Vijay (Bellamkonda Sai Sreenivas) works as a Police Officer in Vizag. He falls in love with Kajal Aggarwal who works in a coffee shop. When everything is going well Samyuktha (Mehreen Pirzada) enters into his life. Vijay saves her from some goons.
The next day, Vijay's mother met with an accident and to save her Vijay needs money. Samyuktha decides to help him and suggests him to kidnap her and demand money from her family. With nothing else to do, he accepts to this plan and demands 50 lakhs from Samyuktha's family. Later he gets to know that the real Samyuktha is Kajal Aggarwal who he fell in love with at the coffee shop. Who is the real Samyuktha? what happens to her? How Vijay solves this forms the rest of the story.
Performances: Bellamkonda Sreenivas sure is trying to show an improvement in his acting skills with each movie. The film showcases the fact that Bellamkonda Sreenivas has worked hard to deliver a good performance. It would have been better if he had worked more on the dialogue delivery as well.
Kajal Aggarwal is an absolute stunner. Her beauty is one of the major highlights in the film. Mehreen looked pretty and promising in the movie. She also delivered an impressive performance. Neil Nitin Mukesh never fails to surprise the audience with his performance and he has delivered another attracting performance again in the movie.
Harish Uttam and Harshvardhan Rane once again proved that they are promising actors by delivering the decent performances. Mukesh Rishi and Kalyani Natarajan are perfect for their roles. The rest of the cast made their presence felt.
Technical Aspects: The production values by Vamsadhara Creations are rich. The producers have put in bulk amounts for the movie. The music by SS Thaman is like a biggest asset. Though the songs are average, his background music is really impressive.
Cinematography by Chota K Naidu is good and the visuals are pretty decent. The editing is just average. The runtime is bearable. It is evident that the movie is the debut of the director. However, he tried to maintain a constant pace of narration but failed. There are some visible flaws in the film which can be ignored as the director is a debutant.
Verdict: Despite having an interesting story with some intriguing twists, the director actually failed to impress the audience with the film. The slow narration is the major setback in the film.
The first half is filled with some unnecessary comedy scenes and the boring love track. The interval bang creates a big twist. The second half also failed to engage the audience.
Overall, the performances are good and 'Kavacham' has a has some solid twists in the story but the director's poor execution made the film boring to watch.
