The sensation girl Priya Prakash Varrier has set the internet on fire with her winking video from a song from her Malayalam debut movie Oru Adaar Love. Even before the release of the film, the actress became popular all over the country. After creating a huge buzz around the movie, the makers have released the film in Telugu as 'Lovers Day'. The movie got released today on the occasion of Valentine's Day. The expectations have been very high in the movie. Just as the actress has won millions of hearts just with her smile, the audience is expecting that she is going to impress with the movie as well. Let's see how far the movie succeeded in reaching the expectations of the audience.
Story: The entire story is set with a high school backdrop. Roshan (Roshan Rahoof) falls in love with Priya (Priya Prakash Varrier). Priya also likes him a lot but she keeps on denying the fact that she likes him. When Roshan is trying hard to woo her, Gadha (Noorin Shereef) comes into their life. She makes them accept their feelings for each other. Everything goes well for a few days but Roshan and Priya soon part their ways with each other after a series of situations. Gadha again comes into the scene to get them back together. What happens between Gadha and Roshan? Did Gadha succeed in bringing Roshan and Priya together? forms the rest of the story.
Performances: Priya Prakash Varrier looked extremely gorgeous in the movie. She not only grabs the attention of the audience with her beauty but also impresses with her acting skills. The actress has blended well with the role she performed and delivered a memorable performance. Noorin Shereef is also an asset for the film. She delivered her best performance. Though it is his debut movie, he acted with a lot of maturities. Roshan Abdul Rahoof delivered an energetic performance. Michelle Ann Daniel performed extraordinarily well. Arun A Kumar did a splendid job. Mathew's simple performance is good. Siyadh Shahjahan delivered an honest performance. Dilrupa Aswad delivered a decent performance. The rest of the cast also made their presence felt.
Technical Aspects: Lovers day has a simple plot. Without any major twists, the movie entirely focuses on the love story of the lead pair and is a complete romantic drama. Some of the scenes in the second half might test the patience of the audience. Overall the movie is an absolute delight to watch and credit goes to director Omar Lulu. Production values by Ousepachan Movie House are rich. Producers haven't compromised at all in terms of the quality of the movie. Music by Shaan Rahman will get extra brownie points. His outstanding music elevated the emotion in the movie really well. Cinematography by Sinu Sidharth is also one of the major plus points for the film. Editing by Achu Vijayan is average. The run time is crisp.
Verdict: The entire first half is entertaining with introduction scenes, freshers day party, etc. The director succeeded in portraying the importance of friendship in a beautiful way. He also tried to show the difference between love and friendship but failed to make it in an interesting way. The first half is fun-filled and entertaining. The second half falls very slow which becomes irritating for the audience. There are some cute and lovely scenes in the film. There is nothing but a teenage romance in the movie and the emotional factor is lacking in the film. Overall, the movie is just an average film, and fans of Priya Prakash Varrier can watch the film once.
