Falaknuma Das is the new Telugu film that is hitting the screens today. The film was written and directed by Vishwaksen Naidu and he himself played the lead role too. Touted to be a romantic action thriller, the film is a remake of Malayalam hit film Angamali Dairies. The movie is produced by Karate Raju, Cherlapally Sandeep Goud & Manoj Kumar. Check out the film's review here.
Story: Das (Viswaksen), the resident of Falaknuma area in Hyderabad is into the meat business. He maintains a gang with his friends and enjoys decent profits in the business. Unfortunately, one day, while dealing with a business dispute, he loses his temper and accidentally involves in a crime that changes his course of life. What is that crime? What did Falaknuma Das apparently do? How did he come out if it? Forms the story of the movie.
Performances: With Ee Nagaraniki Emaindi, Viswaksen proved his versatility. Now, he has once again proved his mettle as an actor with this film. He has delivered an intense performance and breathes life into the character Das. Tharun Bhascker got a meaty role in this film and he did his best. He will be remembered for a long time. Uttej is the perfect pick for that role Peg Pand. All the other new actors have played their parts well. The heroines Saloni Misra, Harshita Gaur failed to impress with their presence in the movie. The rest of the film's cast is good.
Technical Aspects: Production values by Vanmaye Creations In association with Vishwak Sen cinemas & Terranova Pictures & Media 9 Creative Works are excellent. Vidya Sagar Chinta has handled the cinematographer for this film and has produced wonderful visuals for this film and his camera angles are extraordinary. Music by Vivek Sagar is disappointing. His stunning BGM added more beauty to the film. Editing by Ravi Teja is clean and neat.
Verdict: Falaknuma Das is the remake of the Malayalam hit film Angamali Dairies. This movie has an extremely different story when compared to all the other Telugu films releasing in recent times. Instead of making the story reach the audiences properly, the makers came up with unnecessary changes which spoiled the soul of the movie. The director Viswaksen tried his best to stay true to the original but focused on giving goosebumps to the audience and in the end, both did not work.
The director has maintained a slow pace in narrating the story and it turned out to be a disadvantage for the movie. The director, although marked his debut with this one ended up scoring decent marks for the first film but the way he executed this light-hearted engaging drama is completely disappointing. Finally, Falaknuma Das has nothing to entertain the audiences.
