After entertaining with ‘Kittugaadu Unnadu Jagratha’, young hero Raj Tarun is back again with ‘Andhhagadu ’. This time, he paired up with his lucky mascot Hebah Patel once again. The teaser and trailer were promising and gained decent buzz. The film had hit the screens today and let’s look how it is.
Story
A blind Radio Jockey Gautam (Raj Tarun) leads his life happily with his friend and tries to find his love and marry her. He finds Doctor Nethra (Hebah Patel), an eye specialist and tries to woo her by closing the fact that he is blind. But she finds the truth and ends up hurting Gautham.
Later, she understands him and helps him in getting his vision. As she hurts Gautham, she introduces herself as a dumb girl. They get to know about each other after a period and fall in love. Then enters Ranjith Kulkarni (Rajendra Prasad) and disturbs the world of Gautham. Questions like, who is Ranjith and his relation with Gautham needs to be watched onscreen.
Performances
‘Andhhagadu’ is backed by some good performances which lifted the film to a large extent. Raj Tarun performs supremely well in this film and showcased a lot of variations. He carried the role of a blind man in a quite commendable way.
Hebah Patel looked gorgeous in the film and suited the role well. The chemistry between the lead pair is very good. Raja Ravindra bagged a meaty role after a long time and proved his mettle once again this film. Rajendra Prasad impressed big time with his natural flow of comedy. The rest of the cast fitted the bill perfectly.
Technical
Cinematography by B.Rajasekhar is excellent and showcased the film in a very colorful way and at the same time goes according to the mood of the film. Editing by MR Varma is decent though the second half is a bit dragging. Music by Sekhar Chandra is very good though background score could have been a bit better. The CG work is also decent keeping in mind of the limited budget. The production values are decent.
Writer Veligonda Srinivas managed to come out with flying colors in his directorial debut. Though he chooses a routine script, his screenplay and narration are quite good and holds your interest. The way he dealt the entertainment part is commendable. Had he taken more care on the second half, it would have been better.
Positives : Raj Tarun, Hebah Patel, Comedy, Visuals, Run Time
Negatives : Routine story, Music
Filmybuzz Analysis
The film is highly entertaining with healthy comedy. The film moves a brisk pace and the short runtime too is an advantage for ‘Andhhagadu ’. Also, the music is very pleasing and suited the film perfectly.
There is nothing interesting in terms of the story and it is quite routine in spite of the hero being blind. After a racy first half, the film slows down a bit during the second half and feels a bit dragging at times. Also, certain scenes should have been dealt in a convincing manner.
Though the BGM is good, it gets too loud at times which may irritate some.
Final verdict
On the whole, ‘Andhhagadu ’ is an entertaining film with the right mix of commercial elements. The entertaining first half, good performances from the lead cast are its positives. On the flip side, routine script and a slow second half may spoil the flow a bit. But, ‘Andhhagadu ’ is worth watching this weekend.
