One of the mega heroes who has never failed to impress the audience with his script selection is Varun Tej. The mega prince is all set to test his luck with Tollywood's first ever space thriller movie, 'Antariksham 9000 kmph'. Directed by Sankalp Reddy who previously directed 'Ghazi' movie, Lavanya Tripathi and Aditi Rao Hydari played the female lead roles in the flick.
The trailer itself has hinted that the film will keep the audience on the edge of the seats. First Frame Entertainments bankrolled this project.
The movie has finally hit the silver screens today on December 21st, 2018. Let's check out the review of the movie.
Story:
The film starts with the satellite named as 'Mihira' which loses its track and is about to create big havoc in the global communication system. The only person who can fix this is Dev (Varun Tej) who used to work in Space Centre but quit 5 years back due to some personal things.
Riya (Aditi Rao Hydari) sets out to bring him back. Dev who couldn't forget his lady love Lavanya Tripathi hesitates but gets on board later. Dev, Riya along with two other astronauts goes on a mission to fix Mihira. Did they fix Mihira? What happened while coming back to earth? forms the rest of the story.
Performances:
Varun Tej will definitely impress the audience with his commendable performance. His character is undoubtedly one of the factors that keep the audience stick to their chairs. After seeing him in love stories it is too good to see Varun Tej in a different kind of role.
Aditi Rao Hydari worked really hard for the film. She looked ravishingly beautiful in the film. Her performance in the second half is mind-blowing. Lavanya Tripathi is pretty in the movie. She also maintained impressive chemistry with Varun Tej. Satyadev justified his role well.
Rahman gave his best performance. Srinivas Avasarala gave his 100â„… for the role. Kunal Kaushik did an impressive job.
Technical Aspects:
Production values by First Frame Entertainments are lavish. The producers have invested a lot in the movie. Music by Prashanth R Vihari is mesmerizing. His outstanding background score will give a whole new experience for the audience.
Cinematographer Gnanasekhar has produced impressive visuals. Kittu Vissapragada has penned good dialogues. The runtime is crisp.
Verdict:
One cannot believe that 'Antariksham' is the second film by director Sankalp Reddy. Despite being a young director, he exactly knows how to engage the audiences with the plot and screenplay of the film. He will definitely give us a memorable and different kind of experience in the movie. Sankalp Reddy has written has prepared a gripping story for the film. The first half runs with an uneven pace. The flashback scenes are good.
The interval bang is awesome and creates curiosity among the audience. The second half is engaging and is all about the problems the astronauts faced to complete the mission. The climax scenes are narrated well. Apart from two or three segments, there are no interesting things in the film. However Sankalp Reddy has delivered another mesmerizing film. Overall, 'Antariksham' is an intriguing space thriller.
