After the successful domination of Rangasthalam at the box office, we have a new film today in the theatres and it is called Chal Mohan Ranga. The film Chal Mohan Ranga stars Nithiin and Megha Akash in the lead roles. This is the second time collaboration of the lead actors after LIE.
The film is directed by Krishna Chaitanya and is a joint production of Pawan Kalyan and Trivikram Srinivas under Pawan Kalyan Creative works banner. Nithiin's father Sudhakar Reddy is also associated with the movie as one of the producers. Story: Mohan Ranga (Nithiin) comes across Megha (Megha Akash) when he is searching for job in the USA. They develop friendship and falls for one another. But, they back off from proposing love to each other. Why did that happen? What happened in the end? Forms the story of the movie.
Performances: Nithiin tried his best to present himself newly but the character that was designed for him has nothing new and is completely routine. Still, the young actor tried his best to entertain everyone in the best possible manner. Megha Akash, the second time heroine in the Telugu film industry shared a good chemistry with Nithiin and provided a good galmour feast.
She is also good at performance. Rao Ramesh has played a good role in the film and has come out with his best for. Prabhas Srinu did I everyone with his comic timing. All the other actors impressed and made their presence felt.
Technical Aspects: The film has good writing by Krishna Chaitanya and Trivikram Srinivas. The story given by Trivikram is routine but still has the essence to be presented well on the screen. The direction of photography from Nataraja Subramanian is a huge plus point for the movie. The way the cinematographer has showed the actors on the screen is brilliant.
The music scored by Thaman is outstanding and the audio album already impressed everyone. The background score he has given for the film is simply superb. The editing by S R Shekar is neat and sharp. The art by Raju Nair is excellent. The choreography by Shekar is aweful. The fights by Stunt Shiva and Ravi Varma are good. The prodution values by the producers are lavish.
Verdict: Chal Mohan Ranga is a film not for everyone. Many might not like the film but it is more for the urban audiences. This comedy entertainer which has got good dose of romance is going to work well in the A centres. The first half is decent while the second half is slightly better than it.
The regular boy and girl love story that ends on a happy note is what presented in the film but the entertainment quotient is perfectly blended with a routine story and hence the audiences will not get boredom while watching it. The writing has been decent and the technical aspects came out well too. All in all, the film has no high movements and has a flat narration. Except for few ups and downs, the film is worth a watch.
