Starring the gorgeous actress Sree Mukhi, the movie CHANDRIKA which falls under the genre Horror got released today. Kamna Jahtmalani and Karthik Jayaram in lead roles, the movie which was anticipated to thrill the audience hit the theaters in both Kannada and Telugu languages.
Story Line:
As it is a current trend of horror movies in the industry, a horror movie is a good trial. The movie starts off showing an old mansion which is haunted by the spirit of Chandrika. A painter Arjun(Karthik Jayram) who is very famous buys the mansion to gift it to his wife Shilpa(Sree Mukhi).
There starts the trouble and Shilpa starts an odd behavior. The twist in the tale lies where it reveals how Arjun is connected to Chandrika. What is the tale behind Chandrika's spirit?
Technical Aspects:
The script lacks perfection. The story is again a routine, hammering one. The story line of a ghost, its past etc. reveals that there is no freshness. No promising directional takes. Dumb narration fails to conjure the viewers. Even the BGM does not sync with the screenplay.
The main theme of the movie is to scare people, but that doesn't happen. Camera work is decent which was done by Rajendra Babu. VFX is not at all up to the mark. Dialogues were mediocre. Production values are okay.
Roles and Performances:
Sree Mukhi is seen in a very commendable role. In her very first movie itself she has tried her best to make her screen presence. In a lady oriented movie, there is a lot of stress on the actress as she have to carry the whole team's efforts. Sree Mukhi has done a decent job must say. She looked terrific in creepy looks and her expressions were very well suited to her role.
Karthik Jayram justified his role very well. Kamna's action is a mediocre one. The other roles are just namesake and failed to justify.
FilmyBuzz Review:
The whole story is predictable and the so-called horror movie missed to convey its main theme- The horror. Directional skills were not even fundamental. Except Sree Mukhi, the whole movie was more or less like a drama.
Verdict: Chandrika failed to scare out the viewers. Complete boredom!
