Vishal played the lead role in Tamil film Thuparivalan which has become a super hit in Tamil. The film is releasing today in Telugu with the title Detective. Vishal who is known for his unique story selection has come up with this latest film on his production house name Vishal Film Factory. The film is made on thriller genre and Anu Emmanuel made her Tamil Debut with the film. Andrea is also seen as a female lead. Mysskin is the director of the film. Story: A detective Advaitha Bhushan (Vishal) takes up the case of solving the mysterious death of a dog. In the process, he comes across some truths that are connected to the murders of some big people in the city. How did he successfully solve the case forms the story of the film?
Performances: Vishal played his part very well and impressed as a detective except for the costumes he played everything suited him well. His way of playing with the character is evident on the screen. Anu Emmanuel who made her Tamil debut with the film has nothing to do with her role. She is okay and Andrea is good as per her character limitations. Prasanna who played Vishal's friend delivered an impressive performance. Vinay who played Antagonist lived up to the characters' expectations. All the other actor did their job very well and made their presence felt.
Technical aspects: The film is at top notch in terms of technical values. Especially certain shots of the film have come out well and give goosebumps moments to the audiences. The detailing of the film has come out very well in the movie. The cinematography of Karthik Venkatraman is good. Especially some camera angles have been the best in the movie. Arun Kumar's editing is good and it is impressed well. The dialogues of the film are nice. Arrol's background music elevates the film in right parts. On a whole, the technical team worked hard for the movie.
Verdict: Detective is said to be a different attempt in the career of Vishal. The film is different from the beginning to the end though it is inspired by the Hollywood films the Nativity flavour has made the film a regional one. There are certain elements of Dark shade, suspense and mystery which are mixed well in the movie. Except with the love story and comedy, all the other elements of the film worked well. The suspense of the film was kept on hold until the second half which really worked. Those who always wanted to watch a different kind of films and thriller movies will surely enjoy this film from the combination of Vishal and Mysskin. Go for it.
