Here’s another remake flick this summer and this has our Vaibhav in the lead role. Dhana Dhan movie, which is a remake of Damaal Dumeel, has hit the theaters on Thursday. Directed by Shree, the film features Vaibhav and Remya Nambeesan in the lead roles.
Story
The film is all about money ..money..Like our politicians, Money Kandan (Vaibhav) is a strong believer of numerology in the film.
Though his name is Money Kandan, he always wants to be called as Money. He is an IT employee and all off sudden he loses his job one day. He was asked to leave from the company immediately. When he is struggling with his life, he gets a box which contains Rs 5 crore.
Kamatchi Sundaram (Sayaji Shinde), who supplies expiry medicines, asks his partner Veerabhadram (Kota Srinivasa Rao) to escape from police. But the money was delivered to Money Kandan by mistake.
What will he do with that money? How will he escape from Veerabhadram and Kamatchi Sundaram? To find out answers for these, book Dhana Dhan Movie tickets in theaters.
Performances:
Vibhav looks good in the role. But Remya Nambeesan's role, who is popular in Malyalam films, shock everyone. Though she is heroine, she did not get much to perform. Kota Srinivasa Rao and Sayaji Shinde shine in their respective roles. Others performed according to their roles.
Technical:
Songs of Thaman are above average but he attracts with his background score. Editing could have been crispy. The production values are good.
Director Shree picks a good story but could not execute it properly on the screen. But the film has a gripping screenplay that makes it gritty. Although some scenes are entertaining, the crux of the story is not upto the mark.

Analysis:
The film starts off on an interesting note and the story is also engaging. And like every other film in comedy thriller genre, this film too has enough twists and turns. Unlike other films, it is racy and not dragged.
On the downside, though the story is interesting, director Shree could not keep the viewers interested till the end. He lost grip at many scenes that have let him down the film.
Another major drawback is director failed big time in highlighting the romance between hero and heroine. The only saving grace for the entire film is Vibhav who is sincere and also Kota Srinivasa Rao. Dhana Dhan movie is a dark comedy film that can be watched only if you don't have any other films to watch. However, the film can entertain some sections of audience who love to watch dark comedy films.
