Tamil superstar Dhanush's latest movie Kodi dubbed into Telugu and titled Dharma Yogi. Directed by RS Durai Senthilkumar, which stars Trisha and Anupama Parameswaran in the female lead roles, has hit the theaters on Saturday. Let us see how the movie stacks up.
Story:
Yogi and Dharma (Dhanush) are twin brothers. They lost their father over a factory row and Yogi dedicates his life to politics and becomes successor to his father. Dharma, who is more like timid guy, keeps away from politics and works as a professor. Rudra (Trisha) is an young woman politician in ruling party and emerging leader as well.
Though they are political rivals, Yogi and Rudra fall in love with each other. They live happily keeping away their professional lives aside. While everything was hunky-dory, Yogi decides to contest in elections and this lands in a tricky situation. This widens the relationship between Yogi and Rudra. How it changes their lives? Forms the rest of the story.
Performances:
The film is undoubtedly one of Dhanush's best performances in his entire career. Be it a massy role or decent professor, Dhanush has nailed it all the way. Right from the word go, it is Dhanuh’s screen presence that holds you completely.
Trisha looks beautiful and shares great chemistry with Dhanush. She has solid role too and she is perfect to the The Role. It's like a second innings for Trish who proves that she can give other heroines a run for their money. Anupama is good as well, Others including Sharanya Mohan have done what is required for the roles.
Technical:
Background score is one of the major assets of the film. Songs are good and so is the editing. Dialogues are decent and connect well. Screenplay is the major plus as the entire film runs on a tight grip. Cinematography is good. Fights and songs have been composed well.
The entire credit should go to Director Senthil Kumar for coming out with a tight and gripping story. Dharma Yogi makes up for a decent watch this Diwali.

Analysis:
It is a superbly crafted political thriller and Trisha is the biggest revelation. All the twists in the film are unexpected and make you glued to the seats till the end.
The film deserves good commendation for treating woman role equally. On the flip side, the film lacks comedy. The film’s second half is a major asset, with powerful political elements and good emotional sequences.
With enough twists and trilling moments, Dharma Yogi a film that will strike a strong chord with fans of Dhanush and to those who love to watch a taut political thrillers.
Overall, Dharma Yogi is worth watching and go and watch for this weekend.
