Post the success of the film Sarrainodu, Allu Arjun is back with a bang now in the form of Duvvada Jagannadham. Allu Arjun and Pooja Hegde played the lead roles of the film. Harish Shankar is the director of the movie. The theatrical trailer of the movie has increased the expectations of the film and the makers pinned a lot of confidence on the movie now. The film is in the theaters now and let us check out the review on the movie.
Story: Duvvada Jaganadham (Allu Arjun) is a small time brahmin boy who runs Annapurna Catering company. He is also a person who wanted the good to win and hence he goes against all odds if he sees a need to help others. In a situation, he has to turn DJ to accomplish a mission of eradicating the criminals from the society. At the same time, he falls in love with Pooja (Pooja Hegde) the daughter of a high profile minister (Posani). There happens a big scam with the involvement of Royyala Naidu (Rao Ramesh). The rest of the story is all about how DJ solves the scam and wins his love.
Performances: This is not a new role for Allu Arjun in the movie. The freshness is because of the Brahmin characterisation for this role. As this is a commercial movie, we come across usual action from Bunny in the film. Bunny is perfect as the lead in the movie and he added lot of style to the character he played. Bunny's transformation is perfect but the transition between the two halves is not impressive. As a priest Sastry and as DJ, Bunny is good.
The way he provided Entertainment is too good. The fans will enjoy his role to the core. If you expect that the hero role would be a different one, then it would be a big disappointment. This is one of the best roles In Bunny career. Pooja hegde also got her career's best role. Her glamour is a major asset for the film. It's a huge plus for the film. Rao Ramesh impressed as a baddie. He tried to impress Rao Gopal Rao but it's good. Vennela Kishore's comedy timing is nice. The rest of the actors are good in their limited roles and made their presence felt.
Technical: Harish Shankar cleverly used his intelligence in the film by choosing the story line. The director avoided risk and planned the movie well. The director created the first half of the movie in an entertaining manner. There are a lot of good elements in it. The twist at the interval point is impressive. The second half falls flat and appears routine at some points.
The dialogues are too good in the film and they bring in required entertainment in the movie. Harish played a clever game by using Pooja properly in the script. Devi Sri Prasad scored good music for the movie. His background score is impressive to the core. The camera work is amazing. The editing is good. The run time could have been chopped off. The action episodes are nice. The production values are grand.
Plus Points: Bunny Performance, Pooja Hegde Glamour,DSP Music, Good Screenplay
Minus Points: Movie Duration, Regular Story, Ups and Downs in Second Half
Verdict: Duvvada Jagannadham is a routine film and it is best to watch the film without any expectations as it is the best way to enjoy the film. The film has the traces of Julayi, Adhurs, Gentleman and Son of Satyamurthy. The film entertains completely in terms of commercial aspects. The mass audiences will enjoy the film to the core. Bunny has tried something different with his character which will not be throughout the film. On a whole, the film is good in parts and gives less satisfaction.
