Young and talented actor Vijay Deverakonda who portrayed a cult character in his previous film 'Arjun Reddy' turned decent for 'Geetha Govindam' which is marking its grand release today on August 15th. Kannada beauty Rashmika Mandanna who previously did 'Chalo' movie paired up with Vijay this time.
'Solo', 'Srirasthu Subhamasthu' fame Parasuram helmed the project. Bunny Vaas bankrolled the project under GA2 Pictures banner. Gopi Sundar is the one who scored the music. Ace producer Allu Aravind is presenting the film. The songs, teaser and posters of 'Geetha Govindam' received an overwhelming response from the audience. Let's check out the review of the film.
Story: Vijay Govind (Vijay) sees Geetha (Rashmika) at a temple. He accidentally falls for her. Later, he gets into a trouble with her which is linked to his sister's wedding. Eventually, Geetha likes Vijay but Vijay rejects her marriage proposal. What is the reason? Why does Vijay hate Geetha? What happens in the end? Forms the story of the movie.
Performances: Vijay Deverakonda is sure one of the finest actors in the industry. His performance as Govindam is near to perfection. It would be interesting for the audience to see him in a soft role after seeing him as an alcoholic surgeon in his previous flick.
Rashmika Mandanna is extremely beautiful. She nailed her performance as 'Geetha'. Though this is her second film in Telugu, she delivered a remarkable performance. Naga Babu gave his best in the role he played. Subba Raju delivered his best. Vennela Kishore's comedy timing never backfires. His comedy surely brings laughter in the theatre. The rest of the cast also gave their best and made their presence felt.
Technical Aspects : John penned a cute and sweet love story which impresses the audience. Parasuram proved his directional skills again with this film. The Production values by GA2 Pictures are lavish and Bunny Vaas showed no hesitation in investing the money.
Cinematography by Manikandan is delightful. Editing by Marthan K Venkatesh is clean and nice. There aren't any boring or unnecessary scenes. Needless to say, Gopi Sundar's music has already become a sensation on YouTube. The background score is pleasant. The technical team did their best.
Verdict: 'Geetha Govindam' is a sweet tale which gives a fun and joyous journey to the audience. The director succeeded in proving his talent. The first half is refreshing and cute with Vijay trying to woo Rashmika.
The interval bang creates a suspense. The second half unfolds the lovely journey of two individuals Geetha and Govindam. Though the story is a little bit weak, the sizzling chemistry between the leads made the movie a must watch.
