Gautam Nanda is a very important film for Gopichand as his previous film bombed at the box office. Directed by Samath Nandi, the film has Catherine Tresa and Hansika as the female leads. The trailers and the stylish makeover of Gopichand had created huge buzz around the film. Can Sampath Nandi live up to the expectations, let’s find out…
Story:
Ghattamaneni Gautham (Gopichand) is the son of one of the richest persons in the world. He lives his life in a way that he does not know poverty, pain and hate. He does not even know what Love means. One incident completely changes his thinking and fills an idea of knowing about himself more.
At the same time, he comes across Nanda Kishore (Gopichand). Both of them change their roles in life and start leading new lives. All of a sudden, Gautham's life falls in danger and what happens after next forms the rest of the film's story.
Performances:
Gopichand looks better and he has undergone an amazing transformation for his role. He looks uber cool in the film and he is perfect as both billionaire- slum guy. He has shown variation in both the roles. The way Sampath Nandi has showcased Gopichand is wonderful.
Catherine Tresa looks gorgeous and her chemistry with Gopichand is perfect. Hansika has little to do as the female lead. Between the two heroines, Catherine steals the show with her glamour show.
Taniekela Bharani, Mukesh Rishi, Nikhitan Dheer and others have done their justice to their roles.
Technical:
Music by Thaman is good but background score is one of the major highlights of the film. Songs have been choreographed nicely.
As seen in the trailers, Gautam Nanda is high on technical aspects. Cinematography has added rich look and showcases the film in a good light. Production values are top notch as the makers have not compromised on the rich content in the film. Editing is weak and it could have been better in the second half. Dialogues are precise, to the point.

Analysis:
Sampath Nandi made many successful commercial films in the past. After two years break, he is back with yet another typical commercial flick. Sampath Nandi once again does a decent job with Gautam Nanda. Though the story is routine, the way he narrated the film is impressive. The first half of the film is racy and it becomes predictable in the second half. Had he taken more care on the climax, the output would have been more better.
Gopichand looks very handsome in the film, especially in the role of Gautam Ghattamaneni. He looks macho and his performance in the dual role is a one of the saving graces for the film.Catherine Tresa looks drop dead gorgeous in this film. Her generous skin show will drive youngsters crazy.
A strong first half is a good asset for the movie. The second half is a letdown when compared to the first half. The pace of the narration dips a bit.
Overall, Gautam Nanda is a typical Sampath Nandi mark entertainer.
Sampath Nandi's slick direction, Gopichand's impressive acting and his make over, and Cathrine's glamour dose make the film worth a watch. It will end up as a comfortable watch this weekend. From a commercial perspective, the movie will do well in B and C centers .
