Tollywood actor Sumanth recent release 'Subrahmanyapuram' turned out to be a disaster at the box office. It hasn't even been a month since the release of it but the actor has come up with another thriller titled as 'Idam Jagath'. A debutante Anil Srikantan helmed this project.
Anju Kurian of Malayalam 'Premam' fame is making her Tollywood debut with this movie. The trailer of the film received a mixed response from the audience. But the movie unit is claiming that the film will definitely impress the audience. The movie got released today on December 28, 2018. Here is the review of the film.
Story: Nishith (Sumanth) is a night reporter who wants to make money. He shoots a lot of footage during the night and sells it to the TV channels. He comes across Mahathi (Anju Kuriyan) one day and accidentally records the murder of her father. When Nishith wants to make money out of it, what happens? Did he plan got successful? What happens in the end? forms the story of the movie.
Performances: As per the story, Sumanth's character is both negative as well as positive and the actor has portrayed both the sides really well. He balanced them and delivered a memorable performance. Anju Kurian is pretty and promising in the film. She definitely created a good impression on the audience with her debut movie. Her dialogue delivery, her expressions, and Chemistry with Sumanth added more beauty to the film. Shafi is decent in his role. Shivaji Raja delivered his best performance. Satya and B Priyadarshi Ram acted really well. Aditya Menon's eye-grabbing performance will get extra brownie points for the film. Kalyan Vittapu made his presence felt.
Technical Aspects: Producers Jonnalagadda Padmavathi and Gangapatnam Sridhar invested decent amounts in the film and production values are good. Dialogues by Chandrashekhar will undoubtedly impress the audience. He has penned some intense and intriguing dialogues for the film. Cinematography by Bal Reddy P elevated the story really well. Music by Sricharan Pakala is an absolute delight. His thumping background music is the extra benefit for the film. Editing by Garry BH is clean and neat.
Verdict: Despite being a debutante, Anil Srikantam tried his level best to leave a mark on the audience. The way he executed the complex story is really impressive. Though there are a few shortcomings, they won't disturb the flow of the film. The film is a complete crime thriller. The director tried to execute the subject without any major thrilling moments. It is a drawback in the film. Sumanth did his part very well. The narration is very slow and the twists are not very interesting. The film will go well with those who like these kind of movies but not a pick by all classes of the audiences.
