Jaguar has created a lot of buzz as it is the launchpad of a former chief minister Kumaraswamy's son Nikhil. Will it live up to the audience' expectations? Let's check out.
Story: SS Krishna (Nikhil) is a medical student but he turns into a masked vigilante named Jaguar by night. He is the reason behind many murders of high profile people and kills them one by one by wearing the mask. The police department, who took the case seriously, appoints a CBI office (Jagapathi Babu) to find out the mystery behind the murders and nab the accused. Will the CBI officer nab Krishna? What is the reason for his acts? Is there any past for Jaguar? to find the reasons watch the film in theaters.
Performances: Nikhil is very good at dance and action stunts. It can be clearly seen that he is well trained in all aspects. But, however, a lot needs to be improved. Expression wise , body language and dialogue delivery, he needs to get better. His energy levels are mind blowing and he gave 100 percent effort for the film. Deepti Sati is not upto the mark and her performance is just okay.
Sampath Nandi is excellent as media baron. Tamannah oozes oodles of oomph in the special song. Brahmanandam is routine and tried to bring a few laughs. Jagapathi Babu does his part well but his role ends abruptly. Rao Ramesh did a okay role. Others including Ramya Krishna and Adarsh did their bit.
Technical: SS Thaman's music is mediocre. None of the songs are good on ears. His background score is ok. Editing could have been crisper.
Visuals are cool and the songs are also captured well. Action stunts are excellent and some of the dialogues are good but they are not that effective overall. Production values are extraordinary and the makers have spent a bomb on it.Director Mahadev has succeeded half way in launching Nikhil. He should have taken much care in treatment.

Analysis: Jaguar has excellent production values and an assemble cast but the director has not paid enough attention to the story and commercial plot and some scenes look silly. It is not up to the expectations that the trailers raised. Jaguar failed miserably on the writing front.
The screenplay is also not gripping and the director only executed the main plot involving the Jaguar in a perfect way. But he failed in dealing the commercial plot and the forceful inclusion of comedy to the narrative is not going well with the audience. The film has some brilliant action sequences and credit should go the stunt master. The first of the film is gripping and engaging with enough action episodes and second half has some entertainment though but it is not effective. The first half an hour in second half completely goes off track and makes us wait for this torture to end. The film picks momentum from last 20 minutes and the climax is also handled neatly.
On a whole, Jaguar will leave you disappointed.
