Natural Star Nani is all set to enthrall the audience with his performance as a cricketer in his upcoming movie 'Jersey'. Gautam Tinnanuri of 'Malli Raava' fame helmed this project. Touted to be a sports drama, Kannada beauty Shraddha Srinath marked her Tollywood debut with this film. The expectations have been high on this movie and has been carrying a decent pre-release buzz. Bankrolled by Sithara Entertainments banner, the movie has finally released today on April 19, 2019.Nani has pinned all his hopes on this film. Let's see how far the film has succeeded in impressing the audience.
Story: Ariun (Nani) is an ex Cricketer who loses the job. His wife Sarah (Shraddha) works at Taj Banjara. At one point, Arjun eliminates cricket from his life but it changes his life completely and pushes him into deep.troubles. What happens then? How did Arjun overcome his problems? What happens in the end? Forms the story of the movie.
Performances: Nani is undoubtedly a show stealer for this film. His energetic performance is one of the major driving factors behind the film. Whether it is the younger version or the middle-aged person role, Nani has delivered his career-best performance in this film. Especially in the emotional scenes, his outstanding performance will definitely impress the audience. Shraddha Srinath looked pretty and promising in the film. Her stunning performance added more beauty for the film. Sathyaraj delivered a finest performance in the film. Sampath Raj, Praveen also made their presence felt.
Technical Aspects: Gowtham Tinnanuri has proved his storytelling skills with 'Malli Raava' movie and now he has showcased the same with 'Jersey' movie as well. He has prepared an engaging story that is heart touching and emotional. The strong story can be considered as one of the major highlights of the film. The director has succeeded in narrating the story in an interesting manner. Production values by Sithara Entertainments are very high. Music by Anirudh Ravichander is very good. Keeping a couple of songs aside, the astounding BGM is definitely one of the plus points for the film. Sanu Varghese's cinematography is decent. He has delivered some bright and colorful visuals for the film. Editing by Naveen Nooli is neat.
Verdict: 'Jersey' is an emotional entertainer. The first half of the following is a blend of light romance, some comedy scenes, and the character introductions. The interval bang creates curiosity among the audience. The second half is filled with emotional scenes. Some of the scenes between Nani and Shraddha are somewhat boring. However, the emotion is carried decently well in the film especially in the second half. The climax is handled very well. The director and Nani will get the credit for creating a good, heart-touching climax. Overall, 'Jersey' is a must watch film which will impress all sections of the audience.
