Producer, Director Pattabhi R Chilukuri
Music: Prasan Praveen Shyam
Cinematographer: Shekar V. Joseph
Cast: Harish Kalyan, Pooja K Doshi, Sai Ronak Etc...
Director Pattabhi R. Chilukuri comes up with a breezy entertainer titled as ‘Kaadali’. The film created decent buzz with its promos and fresh cast is its main asset. The film is all set to hit the screens and let us see how the film is.
Story: Bhandavi Varadarajan (Pooja K Doshi) is a happy-go-lucky girl but her parents are worried about her marriage as they have a lot of debts. Though she is a Orthopedic doctor, she doedn't have any aim rather than marriage. Going by her grandmother’s advice, Bandhavi goes to find a suitable groom.
During the course of time, she finds two men Karthik (Sai Ronak) and ‘Kranti (Harish) who are charming and lovable. Both have their set of positives and flaws and Bandhavi has to choose anyone of them. The rest of the film is a combination of confusions and happy ending which should be enjoyed onscreen.
Performances: The entire film revolves around heroine’s character and Pooja K Joshi impresses big time in her debut. She is very adorable with expressive eyes and acted ably. Though she is a bit short beside tall heroes, she covered it up with her performance.
Both the heroes looked good onscreen. Sai Ronak was good in terms of acting when compared to Harish Kalyan. Both of them need to brush up their acting skills to fancy their chances in the industry.
The rest of the cast performed to their calibre and were okay.
Technical: Songs by Prasan, Praveen and Shyam is soft and melodious. They were picturized well too. Background score is fine and suited the mood of the film. Editing by Marthaand K Venkatesh is good though he could have taken more care in the latter part of the film. Cinematography is the major asset of this film. Sekhar V Joseph captured scenic locations beautifully and his frames resembled paintings.
Writer, director and producer Pattabhi had done an average job with this film. Had he taken more care on the screenplay, the film would have been even better. Nevertheless, his production values are quite good.
Filmybuzz Analysis: The fresh cast and heroine are the major assets of this film. Few twists and turns succeeded in bringing curiosity. The first half is filled with fun moments and moves at a good pace.
While the first half gives you some confidence over this film, the second half comes as a major let down. The film was dragged a lot in this part and the confusion of heroine is maintained till the climax. But, it gets ended on a simple note. Though the songs are good they have been misplaced in the film.
After a passable first half, the director went confused on how to reach climax and screenplay goes haywire till it reached the climax.
Final Verdict: On the whole, ‘kaadhali’ is a cool romantic film which can be enjoyed if you could ignore the mediocre second half. The fun filled first half and good performance from the heroine are the major plus points of this film. Give this film a shot if you have nothing to do this weekend.
