It is known that director Ram Gopal Varma has stirred up a controversy by announcing the biopic on legendary actor and politician, former Chief Minister of erstwhile Andhra Pradesh, Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao, and the film is only going to showcase NTR's life after the entry of Lakshmi Parvathi. Titled as 'Lakshmi's NTR,' the film featured all new actors like P Vijay Kumar, Yagna Shetty, Sritej, etc. The expectations of the film are very high. Ram Gopal Varma helmed this project with Agastya Manu. Rakesh Reddy and Deepthi Balagiri bankrolled this project. Amid all the struggles, the film has finally released today. Story: The story of 'Lakshmi's NTR' is not something out-of-the-box as it is already known to most of the people. The story starts in 1989 when NTR (Vijay Kumar) faces a huge defeat in the elections and leads a dull life. Right at that moment, Lakshmi Parvathi (Yagna Shetty) comes to write his autobiography. But bad rumors about them come out. At the event of 'Major Chandrakanth' movie, NTR announces that he is going to tie the knot with Lakshmi Parvathi. Nara Chandrababu Naidu, son-in-law of NTR in association with a newspaper owner, Babu Rao and starts bad rumors about Lakshmi Parvathi. However, NTR marries Lakshmi Parvathi and starts campaigning again. In 1994, NTR got back into power. What happened after that? How CBN deceived NTR and got the CM chair, how NTR died forms the crux of the story.
Performances: P Vijay Kumar can be considered as one of the most significant plus points for this film. He has delivered a dominant performance as NTR. Especially in the second half of the film, his expressions and dialogue delivery is good. Yagna Shetty gave her best performance. She looked promising as an actress. Though it is her debut movie, she has delivered a decent performance. Sritej acted naturally and effortlessly but did his best. Aningi Rajasekhar did a convincing job. The rest of the cast also made their presence felt.
Technical Aspects: Production values of Rakesh Reddy and Deepthi Balagiri are lavish. Music by Kalyani Malik can be considered as one of the major highlights in the film. His astounding BGM added more strength for this film. Rammy cinematography is good. His camera angles are extraordinary. Editing by Kamal R is clean. Overall, the technical team is outstanding.
Verdict: Ram Gopal Varma is known as a controversial director, and he has justified this title again with this film. He has prepared an exciting script by summing up all the controversial elements of NTR's life. He has also narrated it well. RGV has enough experience in making biopics, and he has shown it in this flick as well. The movie started slowly. The first half of the film is somewhat annoying as there will be nothing exciting except for the long conversations between NTR and Lakshmi Parvathi. However, the second half makes up for it and runs super fast. The second half is about the rude behavior of NTR family members and conspiracy of CBN against NTR. The Viceroy hotel episodes are the highlight. The last 30 minutes of the film is also slow and boring. The overdosage of sentiment is terrible. Overall, Lakshmi Parvathi is shown in a good light, and Chandrababu Naidu and NTR's family members are in the bad light. To conclude, 'Lakshmi's NTR' is a good movie and NTR fans should watch the film.
