Keerthy proved that she is the perfect choice to play the title role in the movie and answered her critics with this phenomenal performance. Dulquer Salmaan as Gemini Ganesan is the best part of the movie. The actor impressed with a subtle and mesmerizing performance in the movie. Samantha as the journalist is sharp and curious.
She delivered an impressive performance and has become one of the pillars of the movie. The support from Vijay Devarakonda to Samantha is too good. Both of them arrested the audiences with their performances. The special cameos of Krish, Prakash Raj, Mohan Babu, Naga Chaitanya, Malavika Nair, Shalini Pandey, Srinivas Avasarala, Rajendra Prasad and others are a treat to watch.
Technical Aspects: The cinematographer Dani S done magic with his lens. He took us to the world of 80's, 50's and 70's. Every frame is authentic and full of details. The music by Mickey J Meyer is good. All the songs have come out well in the audio album. The terrific background score is an added advantage for the movie.
The production design of the film is extraordinary. A lot of research underwent in the process. The styling is on point to every character. The editing by Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao is good. On the whole, the technical team has performed to their caliber and came up with the best output. The production values are grand.
Verdict: Undoubtedly, Mahanati is a true tribute to the late legendary actress Savitri. She was fondly called as Mahanati and Keerthy Suresh completely hog the limelight with her stellar performance as Savitri.
This would be an understatement if we call, Savitri herself took birth as Keerthy. She did justice and lived in that character. The director has successfully recreated the iconic scenes from Savitri garu’s hit films and will definitely make the audience of that generation. The first half is good and the narration of the second half looks a bit slow but the emotions work out. With each and every character's hard work, the director made us connect with all the characters.
