Story:
Aditya (Nani), a native of Bheemavaram, is a decent and easy going guy and works as an assistant director.
He falls for his hometown girl Kiran (Anu Emanuel) and she also started liking him after so many efforts. While everything was going hunky-dory, a small twist to the plot divides Aditya and Kiran. Aditya walks away from Kiran to Hyderabad. After sometime, he meets an IT employee Suma (Priya Shri) in Hyderabad and becomes close to her.
Without hiding his past, Aditya explains Priya about his failure love story which further impresses her. Twist in the tale arises when Kiran enters to Aditya's life again. What happened between Aditya and Anu? How will Aditya handle two women? forms the crux of the story.
Performances:
Nani is in his usual best and effortlessly slips into his character. He entertains everyone with his impeccable comedy timing and carries off the film on his shoulders. Anu Emanuel tried to put in her best and her clothes and her acting sync perfectly with the character. Priya Shri is just ok in her role. Vennela Kishore generates some laughs. All the characters have purpose and performed accordingly.
Technical:
Cinematography by Gnanasekhar is of top-notch quality and has rich visuals. The music is situational and goes with the flow. The picturization of the songs is very good and quite quirky too. Editing could have been better and the dialogues are very funny. Production values are good. Virinchi Varma should have taken better care with respect to story and twists. Had the director managed to narrate the second half in a better way and come up with good twists, the outcome of Majnu would have been even better.

Analysis:
Virinchi Varma has impressed with his debut film Uyyala Jampala. Though Uyyala Jampala did not have a strong plot, he made the movie a decent watch with his narration.
He selected a predictable story for Majnu too. But this time he failed to impress much with his narration.
Although he has written a predictable story, he has incorporated all the necessary ingredients in the first half of the film to make it a decent watch. The love scenes between Aditya and Kiran have come out extremely well and impress everyone. But the reason behind their break up is silly. Lack of emotions, twists and dragged scenes spoil the proceedings in second half.
Plus points of the movie are Nani, visually appealing frames and witty one liners. On the flip side, the way the twists are revealed is not good and the proceedings have become quite predictable in the second half. Priya Sri is the weak link in the movie and she is not convincing in her role.
Majnu is a clean and classy movie but it is let down purely by routine story. Watch the film, if you are a fan of Nani. Overall, Majnu is strictly an average fare.
