Srinu Vaitla is back after his debacle Bruce Lee and he has teamed up with another Mega hero Varun Tej. Let us see how they have fared in this.
Story :
Chai aka Pichchaiah Naidu (Varun Tej) is a happy-go-lucky guy and he lives in Spain with his parents. Meera (Hebah Patel) comes to Spain on a five-day trip and stays with Chai's family. During her stay, she becomes close with Chai. A twist in the tale makes Chai to visit India where he meets a village girl Chandramukhi (Lavanya Tripathi). Both the leading ladies face threat from their rival groups. How will Chai protect them and with whom Chai gets married make the crux of this triangular love story.
Performances :
Mega Hero Varun Tej is a complete show stealer in Mister. As for his looks, Varun Tej is handsome and has made his presence felt strongly. His costumes are cool. He needs to improve his dances a lot. Hebah Patel as Meera has not hesitated in showing off her skin and She provides glamour where required.
Lavanya Tripati as Village girl does neat job in her role. She is ok with respect to expressions. Comedians Srinivasa Reddy, Prudhvi and Raghu Babu were there to fill the gaps and they evoked some laughs. Others performed according to their roles.
Technical :
Music by Mickey J Meyer is not so appealing. Background music also not works in favour of the film. Songs are passable as nothing great about them. The editing should have been crisper. Camerawork by KV Guhan is stunning, as he presents all the locations in a superb light. Production values are good. Screenplay of the film is quite good in the first half and keeps you engaged from the beginning.
Srinu Vaitla picks up a weak script and his narration in the second half is not so convincing.
Plus Points :
Varun Tej
Locations
First half
Hebah's glamour
Minus Points :
Second half
music
Too many subplots
Analysis :
Given his recent string of flops like Aagadu and Bruce Lee, it was important for director Srinu Vaitla to keep up the expectations. And this time too Srinu Vaitla has come up with routine film. The film doesn’t have anything unexpected or curious.
He has once again followed the typical commercial potboiler formula.
Another major weak point is its music. If Mister had chart-topping music, it would have taken the film to a different level and Mickey J Meyer totally fails here. The key reason for the film to suffer is due to presence of many villain characters and subplots. The real fall of graph starts post interval and Chandramukhi’s story is not appealing. Though the director maintained a good pace in the first half, he was unable to continue the same in the second half. While the first half entertains the audience, the second half turns into bore fest.
Overall, Misters does have its moments, most of the scenes shot in Spain are entertaining and a couple of comedy scenes, but there is nothing spectacular about the film. The minus point of the film is a complicated screenplay. it is yet another disappointment from Srinu Vaitla.
Final Verdict :
It's a routine commercial entertainer with no big twists and turns. Mister turns another dud for Srinu Vaitla.
