Directed by Vysakh, Manyam Puli is the dubbed version of blockbuster Malayalam movie Pulimurugan starring Malayalam superstar Mohanlal.
Story:
Puliyannur, is a forest village, which is always under threat because of the tigers. man-eating tigers. As a child Kumar (Mohan Lal), he loses his parents and left with his infant brother. His father got mauled by a tiger in front of his eyes when he was a boy. This incident made him tough and courageous. Later, with the help of his uncle (Lal), he kills the tiger that took away the life of his father.
After this incident, Kumar transforms to Manyam Puli and protects villagers from the tigers. His only weakness is his younger brother and he is ready to make compromise for him. His weakness is exploited by Daddy Girija (Jagapathi Babu) and this lands him in a big trouble. How will he come out of his mess? forms the rest of the story.
Performances:
If you are a Mohan Lal fan, you will get goosebumps with his stunning performance in this film. He is a treat to watch and gets into the skin of his character with ease. Despite being a 55-year old, he shown exceptional fighting skills in the movie. He does daredevil stunts that can give the young actors a run for their money. There are many scenes that are specially designed to enthrall Mohan Lal's fans in the film.
Kamalini Mukherjee has done justice to her role as Manyam's wife Myna. Scenes between Kamalini and Murugan have a realistic touch. Lal is already a proved actor in Malayalam and he played his role as Mohan Lal's uncle to perfection. Jagapathi Babu makes his Malayalam debut with this film and he delivers an impressive performance. This child artist should needs a special mention for his brilliant performance. Namitha has no scope for performance and her roles is wasted. Suraj Venjaramoodu tickles your funny bone quite often. Others performed according to their roles.
Technical:
Gopi Sundar's background score enhances the cinematic experience from start to finish. The breathtaking visuals captured by cinematographer Shaji Kumar are a a major plus point of the film.The action sequences presented with slow motion camera moves are quite thrilling. Peter Hein’s work is another big asset and he has choreographed some breathtaking stunt sequences in the film. The fight sequences with the tiger and Manyam have been well-executed. Dialogues are ok. Production values are top notch.

Analysis:
Manyam Puli is an action-packed mass entertainer which has an interesting story and an engaging screenplay. Director Vysakh succeeded in showcasing Mohan Lal in a different way.
After thrilling and engaging first half, the film loses its pace in the second half. The film has some routine family drama which irritate you a bit. Editing could have been better in the second half which keeps on dragging.
Breathtaking visuals, brilliant performances, stunning action sequences and thrilling background score are some of the plus point of the film.
Manyam Puli provides a thrilling experience and is a visual treat for all Mohan Lal's fans.Go for it.
