The much awaited movie Manamantha has finally arrived. It has brought Malayalam super star Monanlal to the Telugu film industry under the direction of National Award-winning director Chandrasekhar yeleti. Does it live up to expectations? Let’s find out.
Story:
Manamantha is a family drama which narrates the story of four individuals. The four individuals- a middle-class supermarket assistant manager who struggles for promotion, a school girl who helps poor kid and an IT student who runs after love and a middle-class single mom- have no relation in common.
All these characters are not interconnected but a single incident gets them together. What is that incident?. How will they overcome it?. Forms the cruck of the story.
Performances:
As a a middle-class man, Mohanlal gives his best in the emotionally charged scenes. In one word, Mohanlal adds dignity to this character and is the pillar of this movie.
As expected, he came up with an understand and mature performance.Gautami is a true performer and made her presence felt. She is natural and neat. Urvashi, Chandra Mohan, Brahmaji, Anisha Ambrose, Gollapudi Maruthi Rao and Vennela Kishore got good roles and they were effective. Others have done what is required for the roles.
Technical:
The cinematography and technical finesse are an asset. Mahesh Shankar's songs and background score is good. Camera gets perfectly with the story. The film has rich production values. Editing could have been better in the first half.
Kudos to Sai Korrapati for believing this story and investing huge money to make a good movie. One must praise Sai Korrapati for making a film that is perfectly packaged with all the right ingredients. This is one of the best produced and directed movies in the recent times.

Analysis:
Manamantha is a roller coaster ride of emotions. Chandrasekhar yeleti selected a topic that rings well with new generation audience too. The film has no item songs or major fight sequences or build-up shots for heroes but Yeleti has created a brilliant and gripping screenplay, which keep the viewers engaged throughout the movie.
He made sure that the movie is filled with many emotional moments all the while keeping other ingredients intact.
The film makes you connect with the characters more than the actors and we should appreciate the director for this.
There is no doubt that Mohanlal has made brilliant comeback to Tollywood with Manamantha and it is his show all the way.
All in all, Manamantha is the movie where content has blended well. The film is one of the best movies in Tollywood with suspense, humour and emotional sequences.
Manamantha has enough potential to woo the audience in a large way to the theaters. Very rarely does one get to see a film like Manamantha and go and watch it.
