Story:
NGK (Suriya) is a wannabe politician who wanted to make his mark in politics for a greater purpose to serve the public. For this, he leaves his job and degree aside. He enters the politics and slowly makes strategies to climb up the top. Eventually, NGK becomes the chief minister. How did that happen? What is NGK's journey? What are his intentions? Forms the story of the movie.
Performances:
Suriya's energetic performance can be considered as one of the major plus points for this film. The actor has come up with a different kind of role and will definitely give an eye feast for the mass action lovers. Both Rakul Preet Singh and Sai Pallavi added more beauty for the film. They got two different kinds of roles and both have delivered best performances. Devaraj is too good for his role. Ponnavan performed well. Bala Singh delivered a decent performance. Uma Padmanabhan delivered an honest performance and will impress the audience. Vela Ramamoorthy is good in his role. Thalaivasal Vijay and Ilavarasu also made their presence felt.
Technical Aspects:
The Production values by Dream Warrior Pictures are luxurious and we can say that the producers have invested decent amounts without compromising in terms of quality. Music by Yuvan Shankar Raja is good. Not only the songs but also his BGM is energetic and elevated the crucial scenes. Sivakumar Vijayan's cinematography is too good. His camera angles are impressive. Editing by Praveen KL is just average. The dubbing could have been better.
Verdict:
Director Selvaraghavan's storytelling skills are worth appreciating. The director has balanced all emotions in the film equally well and has executed the complex story in an interesting and easy way. NGK is an extremely entertaining and impressive story of a common man becoming a powerful politician. The entire movie is very engaging and realistic which made the movie even more relatable for the audience. The story also has a proper depth which can be considered as one of the major plus points. The stunning performances by the actors is definitely an icing on the cake. when compared to other regular commercial movies NGK is definitely something different. To conclude, NGK is a decent watch for this weekend.
