After scoring a super hit with ‘A Aa’, Nithiin is back with ‘Lie’. He teamed up with creative director Hanu Ragavapudi this time. Ninthin underwent a complete makeover and the film created good curiosity with its teaser. Recently, released trailer and songs also added up to the expectations over this film. The film is releasing today amidst heavy competition today. Let us see how the film is.
Story
A.Sathyam (Nithiin) is a young man who plays with lies and one day he meets Chaitra (Megha Akash). They both decided to talk only lies and slowly love blossoms between them.
On the other hand, cops search for Padmanabhamam (Arjun). Nithin has a hidden motto behind going abroad. What was the reason behind cops chasing Arjun? What is Nithin’s hidden intention? Answers to these answers form the crux of the story.
Performances
Nithin is very handsome and stylish with the beard in this film. His commitment is very much visible and did his role with a lot of honesty. His character of A.Sathyam is interestingly designed and he portrayed it in an efficient manner.
Megha Akash is cute onscreen and performs well in her debut film. She is sure to stay here for upcoming years. Arjun is undoubtedly the major asset in this film. His stylish villain act was supremely executed and he suited the role to perfection. He took the film to another level. Srikanth did justice to his role as so did Ajay. The rest of the cast were okay.
Technicians
The cinematography by Yuvraj is extraordinary. The foreign locations were captured well and the film looked quite stylish. Editing by SR Sekhar was slick though the film looked a bit slow with dragged narration at places. Music by Mani Sharma is one of the major highlights of this film. His songs were fine and his background score took the proceedings to next level. The action choreography was stylishly designed by The production values by 14 Reels banner were very good and the makers had spent lavishly on this flick.
Hanu Ragavapudi’s dialogues were good and very meaningful at times. His screenplay is interesting despite being slow and maintains the attention with twists at regular intervals. He succeeded in bringing good performances from the lead cast. His direction is very good.
Analysis
The film starts with characters introduced in an interesting manner. The love part in ‘LIE’ is well executed. But the real story starts when the ‘Intelligence’ and ‘Enemity’ part scene. The twists keep you hooked and the suspense is maintained well till the climax. The confrontation scenes between hero and the villain is good and the mind games too were well written.
On the flip side, narration of the film is quite slow at times though it is interesting. There are certain scenes which were unnecessary and dragged. The logic in the film goes for a toss sometimes though it involves mind games. Heroine’s role doesn’t hold much significance after sometime. There are not many ‘so called’ commercial elements in this film.
Conclusion
‘LIE’ is an intelligent thriller which definitely entertains you this weekend. Nithin and Arjun’s acting and interesting narration makes it a decent watch.
