Sometimes the small-budget movies create a hit buzz among the audience. One such film which grandly released today is 'Paper boy'. Late Director Shoban's son, Santosh Shoban marked his debut with this film as a hero. Riya Suman and Tanya Hope are the female leads. V. Jayashankarr helmed this project.
Sampath Nandi bankrolled the movie under the production banner of Sampath Nandi TeamWorks. Bheems composed the tunes for the film. The songs are already trending on the internet with a good response. The teaser and trailer have garnered positive response and increased the expectations on the film. Let's check out the review of the movie.
Story:
Megha (Tanya Hope) comes to know that she is going to die soon. At that point, she comes across a dairy that narrates the story of a paper boy Ravi (Santosh). He falls for Dharani (Riya) but encounters problems in their love life. What is their problem? How did Ravi unite with Dharani? How is Megha connected to this story? Forms the story of the movie.
Performances:
It was never felt that this is the debut of Santosh Shoban. He has showcased a lot of maturity with his acting. Though there are some flaws, they can be neglected.
Riya Suman looked extremely beautiful in the movie. She showcased her acting skills well which will strike a chord with the audience.
Tanya Hope, the other leading lady of the movie has delivered her career-best performance.
Naagineedu has delivered a good performance and justified his role. Posani Krishna Murali also got a tiny role in the movie and he has given his best. The other cast members also acted well and made their presence felt.
Technical aspects:
The way Director V.Jayashankarr has executed the slow-paced story is quite impressive. He dealt with the beautiful love story in a gentle manner and made it even more beautiful. Sampath Nandi bankrolled this project and his production values are lavish. It seems like the producer and director haven't compromised in terms of budget and quality respectively.
Cinematography by Sounder Rajan takes the larger piece of cake. He has showcased some beautiful locations and the backgrounds in some scenes will grab the attention. Bheems composed the tunes for the film. The songs have already become a hit among the audience. The background music is also nice. Editing by Tammiraju is neat. On the whole, the technical team has given their best.
Verdict:
Paper Boy is the movie that comes up with a lot of freshness but the movie is dull in terms of the narration. The film has a regular story and a routine conflict but the way director took the story forward is interesting. The movie comes with a package of emotions.
There is love, hatred, comedy, romance, and the other elements in the movie but no emotion is strong enough to stay with us. The best part of the movie is the writing that comes with heart touching dialogues. Decent performances, impressive music and amazing technical work made this movie a feel good attempt but it only appeals to us if ignored the dragged narration.
