The film also marks the directional debut of a young director named Sri Ranjani. Let us check out the review of the movie here. The film is also one among the four releases this Sankranthi season.
Story:
Vishnu (Raj Tarun) lives with his mother (Sitara). Both enjoy a good and friendly relation. Vishnu's mother wants Vishnu to get married soon. Around the same time, Vishnu falls for Keerthi (Chitra Shukla) and he reveals the same news to his mother. Vishnu's mother passes away suddenly leaving Vishnu alone in his world. What happens then? Did Keerthi accept Vishnu love? forms the rest of the story of the movie.
Performances:
The film has decent performances from everyone. The sentiment between Raj Tarun as well as Sitara worked out well. Both Raj and Sitara did well. They have put brilliant performances in the film. Priyadarshi played a key role in the movie. He has come up with an entertaining role and provided the decent comedy. The heroine also played her part well in the movie. She is good in terms of looks and also portrayed expressions well. Sri Vidya's dubbing suited her well. All the other actors made their presence felt.
Technical Aspects:
The film has a good story. There is love, mother sentiment and friendship in the movie in the equal quotient. The director has got a good thought process and she came up with a decent plot. The film lacked strong characterisations in the movie. Sri Charan Pakala provided good music in the movie. His background score is also nice. L K Vijay's cinematography is good. Every frame is clear and colourful. Srikar Prasad's editing is nice. A few scenes could have been chopped off. Annapurna Studios have exhibited strong production values in the movie.
Filmybuzz Verdict:
The film Rangula Ratnam starring Raj Tarun in the lead failed to live up to the expectations. The major plus points of the movie in the first half are the sentiment scenes, second half love track, climax and Priyadarshi's comedy. The film has a routine story and the characterisation is also not impressive.
People are not easily connected to the mother sentiment, love and other emotional scenes. The film lacks good chemistry between the main characters. On a whole, the drama quotient is a bit high and we can expect that the film might go well with certain family audiences.
