Sundeep Kishan's Run, which is a remake of Tamil-Malayalam bilingual Neram, has hit the theaters on the eve of Holi. The film appeared to be promising before its release and now we will see whether the film would reach audience's expectations.
Story:
Sanju (Sundeep Kishan) is a software employee who looses his job at a big company during the recession time. He had to take a loan from a local goon to resolve some family problems. Sanju's life takes a turn when his lover Ammu’s (Anisha) father not agreed to their marriage.
Much to Sanju ’s bad luck, Vaddi Raju (Bobby Simha) set a time to Sanju to repay the loan. He confronted with Sanju and asked him to pay his money back by evening. Finally, he lands in a tricky situation where he has to pay the money by 5pm, solve family problems and Ammu leaves her home and joins Sanju. At one stage, Sanju chases a thief who steals money from him and he stranded on the road with a single rupee on hand.These problems made Sanju to run constantly. Whether he pays the money back by evening and comes out from the problems or not forms the rest of the story.
Performances:
Sundeep Kishan has carried out his role with aplomb. Though he did not have anything much to perform, he was an apt choice for the common man role.
Anisha Ambrose is beautiful in the film and she must be given few more opportunities. Brahmaji has done a decent job as Padmavati and after a very long time he got a good comedy role. Bobby Simha is apt in his role and justifies his character. Others including Kasi Viswanath, Praveen, Posani and Bunty Satish have justified their roles.
Technicalities:
Sai Karthik's music is good and there are a couple of songs that might remain with the audience for a while but his background score which elevates the film to a decent level. Editing is decent but some lengthy scenes could have been edited further to make the film crisp. Production values are top notch and dialogues are good. Coming to the director Anil Kanneganti, he has done an ok job with the remake. Though he could not get the essence of the original, he was partially successful in setting it up in Telugu nativity.

Analysis:
The film takes off on a sparkling note and in no time, the movie tunrs into a boring affair and it gets back on track before the climax.. Though Run competes with films like “Swamy Ra Ra” and “Bhale Manchi Roju” in terms of story, but it lacks comedy. The plus point of Run is the crisp rum time. The film has enough twists and turns but it goes off track sometimes. Another huge drawback for the film is the chemistry between the lead pair was not dealt with properly. If you go in to this film without much expectations, the film is a decent watch this week. Despite weak first half, it still entertains.
Bottom-line: Watch it without high expectations.
