Saaho is one of the much-talked projects in recent times. Prabhas and Shraddha Kapoor played the lead roles in the movie. Directed by Sujeeth, the movie is jointly produced by UV Creations and T Series. Vamshi and Pramod are the producers. The movie unit is betting high on the success of the movie as the theatrical trailer opened to a positive response. The film marks Shraddha's debut in Telugu and Tamil. The review is out. Story: Amidst a power struggle between higher authorities, unrelated episodes occur in parts of the world that are entwined in an unforeseen revelation of convoluted manipulations. In this situation, one man Ashok (Prabhas) challenges the perceptions and the thugs who are causing the destruction. What did he do? How did he face them? What happened in the end? Forms the story of the movie.
Performances: Undoubtedly, Prabhas is a major highlight of the film. His screen presence and performance brings a lot of depth to the film. The 'Baahubali' star has shown great variations in his roles and performed exceptionally well. Especially, Prabhas's riveting performance during the interval block and climax scene is amazing. Shraddha Kapoor is an absolute delight to watch. Her screen presence is outstanding added and added not only beauty but also the strength to the film. Neil Nitin Mukesh does a decent job and is pretty impressive in the film. He has showcased various shades in his character in a beautiful way. Jackie Shroff and Mandira do what is required of them. Murali Sharma’s performance is also good. Vennela Kishore did justice to his role. The rest of the actors also made their presence felt.
Technical Aspects: Director Sujeeth has failed to prepare an interesting script for the movie and with too many good twists and turns. Prabhas turned the story into a routine one. The director has failed to pick up an intriguing story but also executed it in a decent way. The way he narrated the second half is disappointing when compared to the first half. The production values by UV Creations and T Series for the film are top-notch. Background score by Ghibran is pretty much impressive and made the film even more interesting. Cinematography by R. Madhi is top-notch. He elevates each and every scene and changes the film’s mood completely. Overall, the technical team worked really hard and produced a mesmerizing output.
Verdict: The various twists that come throughout the film will keep the audience irked. There is not a single factor that could make the audience stick to their chairs. Except for the breathtaking visuals and astounding music, there is nothing great in the movie. The interval bang has been handled quite effectively but the pace of the screenplay falls flat in the second half again. Also, the pre-climax itself appears like a climax and the film never really ends. On the whole, 'Saaho' is not a thriller in the first place and the plus points are the stunning visuals, stupendous performances, and background score. There are a lot of flaws in the film and Sujeeth made the movie in an unimpressive way. Prabhas leads the film from the front but it didn't help the film.
