Naga Chaitanya who delivered a flop like 'Yuddham Sharanam' has picked up a full-length entertainer 'Sailaja Reddy Alludu'. Director Maruthi who is an expert in romantic comedies helmed this project. Anu Emmanuel who is also in a dire need of a hit paired up with Naga Chaitanya in this film.
Ramya Krishna also played a vital role in the film. S Radha Krishna, Naga Vamsi S and PDV Prasad bankrolled this project under the production banner of Sithara Entertainments. Amid high expectations, the movie finally got released today. Let's check out the review of the movie.
Story:
Chaitanya aka Chaitu is a happy-go-lucky guy who doesn't hold grudges and leads a peaceful life. He falls in love with a rich girl Anu Reddy (Anu Emmanuel) who is an egoistic and arrogant person. However, she also slowly gets attracted to Chaitu's personality and falls in love with him. Instead of a happy ending, here comes the twist. Anu's mother Sailaja Reddy (Ramya Krishna) becomes an obstacle for their marriage. What Chaitu does to impress her? And how Chaitu convinces Sailaja Reddy and marries her daughter forms the rest of the story.
Performances :
Naga Chaitanya is known for his lover boy and silent roles got an interesting role in this film. Chay also has delivered a good performance and has shown his energy levels. Anu Emmanuel is a delight to watch. She will grab the attention with her beauty and her performance as well. The chemistry between Chay and Anu will be one of the major highlights in the film. Needless to say, Ramya Krishna has delivered the best performance and pulled off her role gracefully. Vennela Kishore got another interesting role and he will impress the audience just with his expressions itself. Naresh, Murali Sharma, and Prudhvi Raj also justified their roles. The rest of the cast members also made their presence felt.
Technical Aspects:
Director Maruthi will grab the attention more with his stunning execution. Despite having a routine story, Maruthi spelled his magic by handling it so well. He designed an ordinary story in an interesting way. The production values by Sithara Entertainments Production banner are rich and it is evident that the producers haven't compromised in terms of quality. Gopi Sundar's music is excellent. His background score is amazing. Editor Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao did a good job. Cinematography by Nizar Shafi is worth-appreciating. The runtime is crisp. Overall, the movie is super rich in terms of technical aspects.
Verdict:
After a long time, 'Sailaja Reddy Alludu' brings back the Telugu dramas from the 90s and early 2000s which dealt with the love and hate relationship between mother-in-law and son-in-law. Maruthi Dasari's magic touch to this routine script is something that impressed the audience. The movie is a complete family entertainer. The routine story might be a major set back but Maruthi's narration made it even more amusing. The comedy episodes are the highlights of the movie. 'Sailaja Reddy Alludu' is a worth watching film that is a perfect blend of comedy, romance, and other commercial elements. Give it a try.
