Singham 3 has been facing all sorts of troubles to see its release light. After being postponed for over three months now, the action entertainer has finally hit the screens today. Let’s see whether it gives Suriya some much-needed relief.

Story
Narasimha (Suriya), who is very popular as a fierce honest cop in Andhra Pradesh, has been deputed to Mangalore by Karnataka Home Minister (Sharath Babu) to investigate the murder of a former Police Commissioner. Soon after taking the charge, Narasimha cracks the case. But the course of investigation leads Narasimha to an international mission where he meets a dreaded mafia don Vittal(Anoop Singh Thakur).
Narasimha goes on a mission to nab Vittal who changes the port into a dumping yard with e-wastage. How does he bring down the empire of Vittal who operates from Australia? Why was the Commissioner murdered? How he handles the case? forms the rest of the story.
Performances
As far as performances go, it's Suryia's show all the way. Suriya carries the entire film on his shoulders in the third instalment. He continues to look handsome in Singam 3 with his long mustache. He has done complete justice to the role and viewers go bonkers over his performance as a tough cop. Shruthi Haasan looks glamours and performes well. Anushka Shetty shines in her role.
Thakur Anoop Singh made his debut with this film and he does a neat job. Others performed according to their roles.
Technical
The film has rich production values. The songs and lyrics fail to register for the Telugu audience. But Harish Jayraj manages to keep up with the tempo of the film with his racy background score. Editing could have been far better. Dialogues are massy and quite good. Cinematography and artwork are excellent. Coming to the director Hari he has done an average job. There is nothing new in the story and screenplay is also very weak.
Analysis
The film opens with a quick recap of Singam2 and voice over of Suriya about the history of Indian politics. As expected, Singam 3 has a lot of power-packed action sequences and the story races along with a fast pace keeping you engaged throughout the movie.
But there is nothing novel in the script. The screenplay is linear and predictable.
Director Hari has retained most of the original cast except Shruthi Haasan and the main villain. What works big time for the movie is Suriya's powerful performance and mass scenes. There are many unnecessary scenes in the film and many of them could have been easily chopped off to make the proceedings crisp.
Routine story, predictable plot and music are some of the negatives.
The screen presence and charisma of Suriya, nicely executed action sequences, plenty of action and powerful dialogues are the plus points of the film.
Final Verdict
If you're expecting a different and edge-of-the-seat police film, Singam 3 is not your film. Watch it only for Suriya.
