It's been two years since we saw Bellamkonda Srinivas on screen. If Alludu Seenu established him as an actor with lot of promise, Speedunnodu shows him as a dynamic, racy hero, who has improved in all the departments. He emoted well and his action in action scenes is mature and impressive. Through this youthful entertainer, he has shown what he is capable of.
Storyline:
Hero Sobhan (Bellamkonda Sreenivas) is a happy go lucky guy who tries to help one of his friends win over Vasanthi (Sonarika). In a strange twist, the heroine falls for Sobhan and not his friend. Heroine's father (Rao Ramesh) wants his daughter to marry Jagan (Kabir Singh). How Sobhan manages to get Vasanthi and how he bashes up the baddies forms the story.
Performances:
The film is racy and the screenplay is tight. But, most importantly this is Bellamkonda Sreenivas movie. He has demonstrated his acting skills and matured as an actor. He performs with great energy, dances very well and does action scenes very well. He is quite impressive and has worked on his strengths. He is proving to be a promising and dependable actor. Srinivas Reddy as hero's pal and Kabir as the villain are impressive.
He has worked hard on his strengths and will surely be a promising actor in the future. Heroine Sonarika is not just pretty but acts well too.
Srinivas Reddy does a decent job in his role. His comedy works out well during the first half. All the teasing and romantic scenes that are showcased during the first half are ok. Kabir Singh underplays the villain’s role well and impresses with his act. Comedian Madhu gets a meaty role and does his best. Chaitanya Krishna and Prakash Raj do their characters as required.
Technical:
Technically, the music is good and the background score at places is haunting and soul-touching. the direction is racy and the screenplay is spicy. But, the editing could have been better. The film has good cinematography and the visuals are rich and beautiful. Director Bheemineni does a decent job.
Filmybuzz analysis
Speedunnodu has a interesting storyline and Bellamkonda Sreenivas proves that he has arrived. The way story has been weaved around five friends is pretty good. The special song filmed on Tamannah is quite rich in picturisation and choreography. Bellamkonda Sreenivas is impressive in his second outing. The way he has carried his role and gives an all round performance is appreciable.
The script and screenplay is taught, but the film gets routine in the second half. Also, the film, though themed on friendship, fails to establish the emotional bonds and the connect between the friends. The film could have had more comedy component. There are some dull moments in the film,which could have been avoided.
Probably for the first time, hero’s friends have some powerful roles in a Telugu film.The climax has interesting twists and overall the film is a must watch for those who love romantic comedy entertainers.
