Director : Venkat Kacharla
Producer : Chandra Sekhar Azad Pati Banda
Music Director : Ravi Chandra
Starring : Teja Kakumanu, Rashmi Gautam, Dhanya Balakrishna
Story
Teja marries Shruthi (Rashmi) sacrificing love for Swetha (Dhanya Balakrishnan). Teja ties a knot forcibly because of some family disputes. Though he tries to cope up with his wife, trying to forget his love, Shruthi troubles him a lot. At one point Teja breaks out and commits a life-changing mistake. What is that, what happened to him then, what does the Zombie have to do in the story, is what we should watch on silver screen.
Performances
The artist who should receive special applause for the performance in this flick is Jabardasth comedian Chalaki Chanti. Comedy Track involving him makes it difficult to sit straight in the seats. Roping in Rashmi for zombie character is a smart decision by the makers. She played the role with that perfection that audience will be left amazed. Keeping a check to the regular skin show characters she palys, Rashmi portrayed a second side of an actor in her. Though a debut Hero, Teja can be appreciated for giving a boy next-door performance. Of course he should improve a lot.
Technical
The Biggest asset for the movie is variety plot written by the flick’s Producer Chandrasekhar Azad. The plot would be interesting as the ‘Zombie comedy’ is new for Telugu audience. Frankly speaking the director failed at the narration but used the comedy track as strong element in the film. Technically important departments like cinematography, editing, VFX and music are not very great, but can be marked decent for a small budget film like this.
Plus Points : Rashmi Gautam, Dhanya Balakrishna, Comedy
Minus Points : Illogical scenes, Screenplay, Direction
Analysis
The slow and not so interesting narration is a big hindrance for the flick’s success. But contrarily the movie bagged interesting plot and ‘zomedy’. As it is the first time this kind of comedy is introduced to Telugu audience, this movie can perform well at the box office. But the flicks climax would be another disappointment, as the director could not handle it aptly. Another point that should be mentioned is that there would be no raunchy treat from Rashmi, which disappoints audience who come to theaters expecting masala scenes.
On the whole ‘Thanu Vachenanta’ is a risky but appreciable attempt, that tries to create new off beat trend. But there is a huge gap between the claimed glam show and horror and the actual film. The film goes more on to comedy track. If you are too bored and would like to relax watching Chanti’s comedy on the big screen, you can give a try.
‘Thanu Vacchenanta’: Nothing worth a penny.
