With two back to back hits, mega hero Sai Dharam Tej is slowly emerging as most bankable star in Tollywood. Directed by Sunil Reddy, Thikka has hit the theaters on Saturday.
Does Thikka give a hat-trick to Sai Dharam Tej?
Story:
The movie revolves around the love story of Adithya (Sai Dharam Tej). Adithya is a happy go lucky employee who works in a corporate company. He falls in love with one Anjali (Larissa Bonessi). But sadly they had to break up due to a small fight between them.
Upset with this, Adithya calls for a party to deal with his nasty break up. But his life will be changed with some incidents that took place during the party.
What are those incidents and how Aditya face them?. What is the reason behind their break up?. Forms the rest of the story.
Performances:
Sai Dharam Tej is definitely gusty as he gave a nod to such a story plot. His performance is the major asset of the film. He showcased tremendous energy levels and attracted with his performance in drunken scenes. He excelled in dances.
Larissa Bonesi oozed sex appeal but she did not get scope to perform. Comedian Satya's role is good and evoked some laughs. Ajay and Fish Venkat acted well in their roles. Others performed accordingly.
Technical:
SS Thaman comes up with a mediocre album and none of the songs stay with you long. Cinematography is good, but the editing should have been more crisper.
Director Sunil Reddy failed miserably with his screenplay and direction. He should have paid more attention to the script and had he included some elements it would have been at least better. Production values of the film are nice.

Analysis:
Thikka generated good interest when the trailer was released. The film stars off quite well but within minutes it loses the plot.Director Sunil Reddy offered has nothing new in this movie and fails to entertain the audience. Weak narration is the major setback for this film.
The only plus point of the film is Sai Dharam Tej and he is the only saving grace. As Tej said the youth,who failed in love, will relate to some scenes in the film.
Another weak point is its music. If the film had chart-topping music, it would have taken the film to a different level. There are many half baked scenes and not many punch dialogues in the movie. First of the film is a big disappointing and second half is little better. Plus points of the film are Tej's performance and a few of comedy scenes.
Overall, you should make a dare attempt if you want to watch Thikka in theaters. Don't think too much to skip it.
