Tuntari, starring Nara Rohit and Latha Hegde, has earned good Response from the audience. The film, directed by Kumar Nagendra, is an official remake of the Tamil movie Maan Karake.
Story:
Produced by Ashok Baba and Nagarjuna and written by A R Murugadoss, the film is about a group of friends, led by Vennela Kishore, who venture out on a trip to meet a sage, a sham one, who they think will forecast their future. How the group makes the prediction of the sage true is the the centre of the movie.
Performances:
Nara Rohit, who played serious roles so far, tried his comedy angle in this movie. The actor, who never set foot in boxing, plays a boxer role in the movie. He is shown like any other guy emersed galli" cricket and whose father is always behind him, mocking and mother is showering love unconditionally, supporting him all the time.
Tuntari, naughty in Telugu, is a mix fantasy, romance and action. It is believed that director Kumar Nagendra has a few elements, which were not there in the Tamil version, to satisfy the local audience.
In the first half, Vennela Kishore and his gang, taking the prediction of the sage seriously, finds a character called Raju whom they believe is a professional boxer and fetch them a fortune by winning the boxing championship. The gang then realises that Raju knows nothing about the sport and get into the job of training him. This whole part is comedy as the jokes crack well considering the laughs of audience and keeps the audience engaged. Latha Hegde, a newbie and who isn't a head turner, appears as his interest of love. Raju gives his best to get her attention. In the process, he pretends to be an awesome tennis player and a boxer.
Filmybuzz Analysis:
While the second half is a mix of seriousness and sentiment. The antagonist of the movie, Kabir Duhan Singh vows to kill him live. Raju takes up the sport and does justice to it. However, the lengthy fight scenes have played down the movie.
The cinematography, production and boxing stunts are decent and the music is otherwise. The director additions like adding some more comedy elements really did some magic in the first half. Which means Venella Kishore and Shakalaka Shankar did leave their mark.
Finally Tuntari is a Box Office Paisa Vasool Movie.
